Protect and Survive - Book Review

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Review of the 2017 republication of "Protect and Survive" by the Imperial War Museum, an information booklet on preparedness for nuclear war.
Protect and Survive was also made into a video information guide during the 70s when the original book/leaflet was produced.
It gives advice on gathering and stockpiling supplies, reinforcing your house and creating a fallout room to shelter from nuclear fallout should the bombs drop.
It also gives advice on disposing of dead bodies!
It's a very interesting little book, a Government authorised preppers manual and an interesting relic of the spectre of nuclear Armageddon.

Thanks for making this video. I'll have to get a copy of that book. I think I mentioned it before, but one must-have book that I bought is: "The U.S. Armed Forces Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Survival Manual" by Dick Couch, Captain, USNR (retired). It's a very concise manual that has been adapted for civilians from military training.

Have you ever thought of starting up a camp meeting buddy ? Maybe a couple of times a year or something, I'm sure it would be educational and fun for folks to meet you 👍

My body always has an urge to watch videos about things like this but I do not know why. When I went to Scotland's Secret Bunker and watched the full Protect & Survive video/movie thing (whatever it is) That night when I got back to my caravan I was shivering so much that the caravan was shaking side to side, It really was!!! Oh and by the way, I have just realised that I have been watching your videos for a year now.

Great video I've been wanting a book review for this, the original booklets were sold at post office for 50p and the full tv program is on KZread. The real booklets are becoming rare the booklet is in a way helpful if ur not in centre of a town city as if u were in centre u be vaporised. But the movie threads the family try protect and survive but it proves not as effective as planned as fallout get in the makeshift shelter.

I have an idea, and i wanted to get your opinion on it. if i was to get a 40mm NATO hose, and using an epoxy or glue to seal it onto a 40mm GOST filter, would that work as a sort of intermediary?

+Nickolas Garner Yes but most NATO hoses cost more than a PACT gas mask anyway.
