My cancer was discovered after a biopsy of the chips removed during a TURP. Result was 3+4=7. That was 4 years ago and my PSA has never gone higher than 1.9 and the latest was 1.3 , my doctor doest seem concerned at all and just checks my PSA every 4 months. As soon as he sees my low PSA he says goodbye, enjoy life, see you in 4 months. DRE every 6 months but always smooth, no lumps nada. I will ask about the 4K blood test the next time Im there. Great video thanks.

Bro what is a DRE?.... I just got a 3+4 and Glisson 2. I'm 47 so my doc is concerned because PSA is at 4.6 which is high. So my doctor is making me panic. I'm wondering and asking others and see what I hear from people in similar situations.

@@HFH-OfficialDRE is a digital rectum exam. A finger up the Butt to feel the prostate.

@@HFH-Official I know I'm late but DRE means Digital Rectal Exam. The video doesn't mention this but it can be used in diagnosing prostate cancer. In DRE the doctor insert his finger in the rectum ang palpate the prostate. If it hard, there's a high probability that it is cancer if soft then it is likely not. Some doctor skip DRE because this makes the patient uncomfortable but I think this physical exam is very useful plus it doesn't require any machine.

Wow, concise practical and useful information! Why can’t my Urologist do the same thing? When I talked to him he just rambled on about the standard of care recommend by the Urological Association. Maybe it’s time to find another doctor since mine tried to pressure me to do the random biopsy procedure. I told him I’m not doing that period. I insisted on first getting the 4K blood test and we’d proceed from there after the results came back. Thanks so much for the video!

Excellent clearly set out explanation of what procedures may or may not be relevant and how important it is for a patient to be satisfied that best practice is available to be followed as required.
