Prost F1 V10 @ Circuit Dijon-Prenois 21-07-2020 with LRS Formula Driving Experience

It was a bit confusing experience for me. Before this Prost F1 V10 I drove 2 laps in a Benetton B198 F1, which unfortunately suffered from a mechanical failure and therefore quit on me on the end of the second lap. At the retry for the remaining 2 laps the same mechanical failure appeared due to a faulty sensor. The sensor couldn't be replaced in an instant, so LRS Formula decided to let me drive in the Prost V10 for the remaining 2 laps as there wasn't another F1 V8 available (only 1 was brought to Dijon-Prenois). In the first 2 laps in the Benetton I wasn't succesful in bringing the brake-temperature of the carbon brake discs up to a proper working level. That wasn't very confidence building, as wasn't the car failing on me. When I changed to the Prost V10 I couldn't even succeed in getting the engine started by giving the correct pulsating throttle input and I needed to be helped by the mechanics getting the engine started. Then the shift lever didn't respond on me to put into gear. And that all happened prior to even driving away. So all my fantasy, hope and dreams of having a slightest bit of talent to do a proper effort were gone by now. The instructors pointed to me the marbels, that were adhered to the stone cold slick tires (the Prost F1 V10 had been parked all day), so I didn't expect much grip from them immediately. Therefore I started this experience with a disturbed concentration and a not so very promising mindset and got that result as well. I have to say the brakes on the Prost felt more confident. But the engine didn't run smoothly to higher revs. So all in all it was nice to have driven the V10 once, because the price tag of that experience is out of my league. But this drive was a cowardly effort on my side and I didn't really get out of it, what I would have wished, because I was a bit overwhelmed by everything that happened before. I was braught back to the pits 2 times with a minivan instead of returning in the Benetton F1 and I sure wasn't being braught back a 3rd time in that way, especially not as a result of spinning the Prost V10.

    Stupid comments under these Videos... I've been to magny cours two days ago and drove the benetton F1 for the first time. I can tell you already sitting in the car is absolutely overwhelming. Driving the car ist beyond imagination. The sheer power of 650 horsepower at a weight of around 500 kilos it is impossible for a normal person without a lot of hours in an F1 car to touch even 40% of what the car is capable of. It's not about setting the best times around the track. It's about fulfilling your dream and suck up the atmosphere in this incredible machines. Joost is doing a fantastic job and i can tell you absolutely get addicted to it! I'll definitely do it again this or next year.

    I've never driven anything close to an F1, definitely something I'd love to experience! It does seem like the cars are maintained in a manner that's similar to public go-karts - they work, but it's like the machine don't get the love they need haha. Don't be too hard on yaself though, if you were able to be on the track testing for a whole day you'd be flying, but can't expect yourself to be confident and smashing lap times when you've only ran a couple laps! Anyway :P, glad I found your videos @ 2am in aus, I'm really enjoying them haha 👍

    Hi Spazmo, thank you for your compliments and for watching my videos :-) I'm convinced the race cars of LRS Formula get a lot of love. Nevertheless it has to be economic and be affordable by normal working mortals like myself. For wealthy people alternatives are Winfield Racing School, Ascari Race Resort and Ferrari Clienti, but those are all not within my budget. I don't mourn however, because I'm very satisfied with the opportunities I got already. I hope, you will get yours as well, but it's a long way from Australia to France. Especially in this COVID-19 era travelling is quite limited. Or did you mean Austria? Then it might be do-able. I hope to see a video of you hitting the track some day.

    Nice to meet you. I am a viewer from Japan. I arrived here while researching the LRS Formula. I am really interested in all the very attractive programs. However, I am having a hard time accessing them from Japan because they are really far away. Was it inconvenient to rent a car or train transportation? I also want to hear the sound of this V10 as soon as possible.

    Hi Jorge, thank you for watching my video and for your question. The camera at the tip air intake was not mine. If I remember and have seen it correctly, I guess, it was a GoPro Hero 5 Black. This year LRS Formula seemed to have quit recording videos, so be sure to take your own camera with you to get some footage of your experience.

    Why are there so many cones lying on the racetrack? Isnt that a serious hazard?

  • @dreamitraceit

    @dreamitraceit

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Ajay, thank you for watching my video :-) The cones on the track help to guide inexperienced drivers (like myself) driving the ideal line, while giving reference on braking point (double cone at the side of the track), corner entry point (which is the next cone at the side of the track), corner apex (mid corner) and corner exit point. I haven't experienced the cones as hazardous, but I would have preferred to have only the cones at the side of the track. I personally don't like the cones lying on the racetrack, which guide the ideal raceline.

  • @ajaykaushik2272

    @ajaykaushik2272

    @@dreamitraceit Exactly my thoughts. A novice can steer into the cones due to lack of skill. An experienced one does not need cones on the middle of the racetrack to guide them. 😃

As a result of the Benetton getting a technical failure I was offered to drive this Prost V10 instead (and with closed purse). Hi Sahan, thank you for watching my video and for your question. I did not pay for driving this actual car but for a less expensive F1 Bronze Experience, which failed however during my experience. LRS Formula upgraded my experience to this Prost V10, which belonged to the more expensive F1 Silver Experience, which you cannot book at LRS Formula at this moment. As a consequence I cannot actually answer your question, as there are no current prices available as well. You can book the F1 Bronze Experience however, which functions very well again, as I have seen with my own eyes less than a month ago, when I was driving the Ligier LMP3 again, but this time at the race track of Magny-Cours Grand Prix.
