Several years ago a friend gave me a small jar of garnets he collected in that area. They are a rich dark maroon red color and tiny. Thanks for sharing your video.

I live in CT and we're glad you copped some nice garnets.. Everywhere in CT is close to Colchester . CT is such a vast state. Personally I have a strong affinity for garnet. Garnet is my daughters birthstone. That's not the reason I like it but it does enforce it. I am a cabinetmaker by trade and prefer garnet sandpaper. That's just a coincidence. I love the color of it. The feeling I get when I am around it. It is calming. Especially the larger darker specimens . I'd like to be buried in a casket and have garnets poured all around and on top of me. Your rap was pretty dope for a white guy. I liked it. Keep working on that too. I am familiar with Dan Hurd. He is a genius. A Truly inspirational man. I just subscribed to your channel . Don't let me down. Peace Brudda....✌

Thank you so much. Garnets are so beautiful. I find a lot of peace when I am around garnets and prospecting for them. Thank you for the encouragement. I really appreciate it! I haven’t uploaded a video in awhile but I hope that will change soon. Life just got busy. I’m working on so new songs too. Thank you for your subscription.

@@fxymm74 it would be nice to get together with another rock hound like myself. I have actually found Fairy cross stones or Chiastolite in my own yard. The garnets I found were near the old lead mines in Holland MA we don’t have much for mineral rocks in Worcester but in Western MA and up towards NH and CT there’s lots. Sometimes you find good ones in the in between towns.

I have. This location has smaller ones. But in Vermont I’ve found some garnets the size of marbles.

My guy hit us with that pyroclastic -flow But I love the Topic for the video I've always Loved gem stones since I Was very young I don't know Why but for some reason in the last 15 years or so I have just been completely Garnet (green mostly) But I grew up on the Farmington river near Saton's kingdom in New Hartford Me and a friend actually followed what we thought was some cave system and discovered a very old atitt which led to a very old mine Poking up through the Earth there was lots of crystals what looked like gold we still have to check that again but on top of the crystal it was tons of Garnet too This kind of rekindled my interest in Harvesting my own I was wondering if you How many experience in that area And Can you give me any tips or maybe what I should be looking for besides Garnet that's definitely there

Thank you for your comment. I’m familiar with the Farmington River but mostly for fishing. They say there is gold in the river but I have yet to find any there. I’ve found some larger sized garnets, about dime size, in Vernon CT and a few in Portland but I haven’t prospected for them out west. I follow the same principles as gold prospecting for garnets. Look for inside bends with low pressure zones and large rocks that will trap the flow of river gravel. Good luck with your future prospecting adventures.

Seems like sentimental value. So far I have only been able view them with the satisfaction of collecting them. I’m still looking for ideas on what to make with them.
