Today I would like to share you a Malaysia Hotel Review, Grand Paragon Hotel that may helpful for you to decide where to stay if you travel to Johor Bahru Malaysia.
It's located in the heart of the city of Johor Bahru, just in front of Pelangi Mall.
I stayed here with my husband not because we wanted to have staycation in the hotel during Christmas Holiday, but because we need a place to stay nearby the church (Cathedral) for attending late evening Christmas Eve mass and also Christmas Mass.
Here is the pros and cons of Staying in Grand Paragon Hotel:
Pros:
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Early check in is possible if the room is ready.
Great location (but I am not not sure the restaurant around this hotel since I didn't go around for having some food)
The bed is comfortable and clean
The toilet is clean
Breakfast is great, you can also order some lunch or dinner in the hotel restaurant
Cons:
they charge additional fee for mineral water
The restaurant where we had breakfast was too crowded and noisy, too many local tourist with big family and kids (especially during the holiday)
Swimming pool is small and if you want to swim you need to wear full body swimming suit (you can wear bikinis or open shoulder one) and also too many little kids.
Why you should stay in this hotel during your travel to Malaysia (especially Johor Bahru):
If you travel for business/work
If you stay for an event located nearby this hotel
Why you should not stay in this hotel:
You travel for leisure, enjoying sunbathing around the pool (It's not comfortable since you need to wear full body swimming suit)
I didn't see that they have western guest because most of the guest are local Malaysian, Indian, from Singapore or Indonesia.
