Pros and cons to long term full time living in an rv park || Stationary RV living tips from families

#FullTimeRVLiving

ℹ️ About the video: John and I have lived stationary in our RV for over 18 months now. We sold our house because we had this dream that we wanted to travel with our kids and enjoy our lives before they grew too old to want to spend time with us. I was working a career that was financially amazing, but took a lot of time away from the kids. So all of our money was going to a big house, to maintain the lawn, a new truck and yet we had no time to spend using any of it. So we sold our house, purchased a Grand Design Momentum Toy Hauler and moved into it while I still continued to work at my brick and mortar job.
❤️ RV Culture and lifestyle was a surprise to John and I. This past year has honestly been the best year of our lives. We could afford to travel again (with tents and the popup) but it also allowed our girls to grow up playing with their neighbors, riding bikes every day, and freed ourselves of the constant bing watching on the TV or tablet. We were living what we used to reminisce about from our childhood. And we found it all in an RV park.

🇺🇸 About us: John and I recently sold our house, new tacoma... everything. We simplified our life and moved into an RV. With less bills (and less yard work 👍) we had more time and money to travel with our children and do more of the things we love to do! Mountain biking, hiking, exploring, Disney, paddle boarding, rock climbing and overall just having more fun.
💡 Our Philosophy: We sold our house and we are about to quit a six figure salary to travel full time with our kids. Why? To enjoy life now. Not when our kids are grown up, not when we are so old we can't do the things we love. It is not quiet a retirement at 30 plan, more of a lifestyle change. Less property, more time. We are pursuing our American Dream.
ℹ️ Campsites:
For the purpose of this video we will not share where we were located for so many months to protect the other families involved. Love how the guy with the beard said “colored people” like black or brown and he was happy that his RV park was so much more diverse than his old neighborhood. Makes me feel much more comfortable with my plan! I plan to move into an RV in like 2 years getting untangled from a house and being a caregiver. I planned to keep a long term space but to travel when I can. Thanks for this video!

When he said "colored people" didn't offend (I'm Black) because he was coming a from a genuine place in explaining why he liked this type of RVing. I felt nothing but cool vibes from him.

Our main home is on the edge of a old black neighborhood. Colored is what I have always known and heard. I can tell you there are some who take offense to that but I don’t think there’s anything purposely about it.

I am a 72 yr old disabled Vietnam vet and living in this campground has me 20 minutes from the VA clinic and hospital. I have a huge swimming pool to exercise in. I have folks around me who keep an eye on me if I get ill or hurt. I am close to all shopping and family lives all around me in surrounding towns.. This is an ideal situation for me. I sold my acreage in Vermont after my wife passed away and moved to the south. I have a nice corner lot and have only one camper close to me. Cement pads, water and electric. I have my own mail box and UPS along with Amazon come here everyday. I love living full time and I did all my traveling during earlier years NOW I want to be stable, but stay in my camper and have so many amenities here to use without traveling all over to get to them.

I want to do this, too, also in my 70s and a victim of a bad surgeon, so limited. However, where i want to go they only allow certain sized rigs. The one we want to get is 10 square ft too large for any park and you can only stay 6 months, then must leave for 6 months before returning! I am caring for my adult son with Down Syndrome so must stay in this State, which is ok with me, but just cannot figure out how to plan our life. Cannot stay where we are as i can no longer keep it up. Wood heat only in a cabin that needs a lot of repairs and extremes in weather that is too much for me now. Going to leave, sell or not!

My husband and I been full time RV'ing almost 7 yrs now. We stay pretty much stayed in one area due to hubby working a fulltime job, and family. We started RV'ing after our last rental unit was sold. We had 4 dogs, I was unwilling to give up my dogs. and couldn't find alternative living with them. We bought a used 10 yr old RV. as a temp home, liked living in the RV at the park so much, we just continued to stay in an RV. Were now on our 3rd RV. (all 5th wheels) that we bought brand new in 2019. We have given up looking for any other dwelling before we even bought the 2nd rv. My husband is not retired, but due to my health issues, and his family, we pretty much stay at one of two parks. I see no future of owning or renting another stick and brick home again.

I traveled full time in my RV for the last 4 years. This past year during covid I decided to hunker down and have a home base with all the uncertainty. And, it was the BEST decision ever. In fact I would tell anyone who is thinking about buying an RV to live stationary in an RV park for a while so you can learn about your RV and from others before ever hitting the road. If I could go back I would have lived in an RV park for months before moving. Living in an RV park is actually pretty fun. It's like a 24/7 party! Love that ya'll saw the value in stationary RV life to save money. Too many dive in to RV life with the wrong expectations. Thanks for sharing! -XO BlogginBrandi

I am sure you know this by now but, when you long term you do not leave your tank valve open. You run them closed and pull the valve every 3 to 4 days with a water flush like you would do on a weekend camp out and your putting the camper away after. If you leave it open only the liquid will drain and you will get that solid buildup like you did. They do not work like house plumbing.

There's hundreds of video's available from seasoned RV's on You Tube, check them out. In 50 years of camping I've never been to a campground where if you got in a jamb someone would not be willing to help out if you get in a jam. (Just avoid advice from the people with a paper tag still on the trailer. :) As a solo camper I'm not afraid to go ask someone watching me trying to back up, to come over and spot me when backing up, it far cheaper in the long run to swallow your pride and not damage the RV. Depending on where you are if there's an issue with the RV, if your near a city most often the campground office will know of a mobile mechanic, if it's an issue with your tow vehicle I'd be looking for people with local plates asking where to go to get it fixed.

We are retired and bought our barely used 5th wheel a year ago and have had it in a campground for 8 months. We pay $425/mo for water, sewer, power, 103 cable channels and decent internet. We couldn’t live any cheaper and we’ve made more friends than we ever did in our neighborhood in 30 years. We use the campground bathhouse for #2. We only do #1 in the rig and put zero paper products in the black tank. We use happy camper toilet chemicals and thetford black and grey tank valve lubricant and have absolutely no oder and no problems with our black and grey tanks.

I live in an RV community, but I have a mobile home so not some of the issues (just like a house, really). However, I am buying an RV for a different location to leave in a park as a getaway place, so a lot of this definitely applies. I have an AT&T modem hardwired for WiFi, so not a problem. I have it bundled with my cell. TV might be another issue, but I mostly only use it for the Weather Channel and GRIT (old Westerns). Storage not a big issue since it is a part-time place and only me, but he plumbing issues definitely would be! I plan on being there for 4 months straight during hurricane season. I saw an internet booster called Alfa WIFi Camp Pro 2, and you have to mount an antenna outside somewhere. Can use a heavy suction cup mount. About $150 on Amazon.

Last year we gave our oldest son our family home, my hubby took a job transfer West Virginia to Texas. I talked my hubby into buying a 33ft 5th wheel, I gave most of my things away, still have more to go. We live on family property here in Terrell Texas. I was homesick ( we both miss having our grandchildren a few miles away) I'm doing much better, found good Dr's here in Texas. No it hasn't been easy, small things break, we learn how to fix it. Lmao I have my 70 inch TV here in my 5th wheel, however I only need antenna here and get 60 channels. When we lived in our house we used very little of the house, our oldest son Steven couldn't believe we would just let them move in , nothing to pay buy yearly $1.500 property tax and out home is in a rich county Jefferson County West Virginia about 40 miles from Washington DC, we were on the beautiful Shenandoah River, look up you see the Blue Ridge Mountains, 5 miles from Harper's Ferry West Virginia. I can attest to never flush toilet paper into an RV toilet, that will clog up the pipe. I told my husband, family, friends I never want another house. This isn't for most ppl but I love living in about 300sq feet. I need a bed, a place to cook, we have electricity, a warm or cool shower, gas and electric heat, we have a roof air conditioner, and window air conditioner. My phone has my internet. After 35 years in Nursing caring for elderly mostly alzheimers patients and then the last 2 years of C-19, working 16 hours everyday ( we stay understaffed and over worked) I retired early, I am burnt out , 4 back operations, I had to say I am done. now I look at R.Vs daily, maybe a newer one in our future. God bless.

So I have a question for you (or anyone reading this that is stationary FT).. Im a single mom of an 11-yr-old going thru a divorce. I live in Santa Clarita CA, which if your not familiar, think Orange County House Wives times 50. Its a pretty "snobby" area if this makes sense. We have a trailer and use it for vacationing so I am comfortable with being in that space, the needs, and etc. Honestly, my biggest concern came up after I was telling some of my "mom-friends" from my sons school that I bought/ordered a brand new luxury 2022 Riverstone 442MC 5th wheel and was going stationary for at least a few years to save for a down payment for a home and to ultimately upgrade our vacation trailer afterwards.Their reactions were not what I was expecting! It kind of shocked me how "behind" people are with this lifestyle. They were very concerned with my safety and ultimately responded as if I was moving into a "shelter-type" situation, like "poor you." it was very difficult to not laugh given the park I am staying at is down the street from my home that is in a very nice area and we have stayed there at length, the community is awesome. Anyways, I am very concerned that when my son wants to have play dates with his friends from school, etc, I am a bit concerned with potential judgement from the parents. I don't want my son to be worried or concerned to tell anyone we live in awesome 5th wheel! And I sure as hell don't want his friends parents stating they cant come over due to this false idea they have. Have any of you experienced this "judgement" from people? How have you dealt with it? ANY ADVICE?? The reactions from these moms really impacted me. Thank you for reading my "book" I just typed. :)

I think you are right to be concerned. I faced this from some of my friends. As much as people want to be understanding and open minded the reality is that you will be judged. Now your close friends will start to understand, specially once they hear the excitement and passion in your voice. But no matter what there will be that stereotype of the 'trailer park.' Your sons may face this and they may not. One of the best ways to help your friends see past their preconceived notions would be to throw a bbq and invite them over. The hardest part will be for your sons if they are judged at school by their peers or parents. There are kids that get past this and their friends and parents don't care and time does help... but I unfortunately don't have an easy answer. You are going to be a pioneer in your neighborhood.

I have a question about long term stays that seems a little tricky to find clear lines about. Since you stayed for 18 months somewhere, do you find that the campgrounds enforce the non-residential rules or is it pretty much just an unspoken agreement that as long as you pay, that’s how long you can stay? I’m looking to transition to campground living while I figure out where my college career will take me (I work full time and do school) but having to move camp every 2 weeks or something because of technicalities seems like a big barrier in that plan so i can tell for sure if it’s navigable. Thoughts from any experienced passers by are welcome!

Thanks for putting the video together and sharing your experience! I'm just about to begin construction to re-open a park that's located just outside a very large city. I expect a majority of guests will be in a situation like yours: drawn to the area for the related jobs, with longer term stays. I'd be super curious what sort of things you'd design into your ideal park to make it perfect. Many parks cater to an older, non-children crowd and I'd love to hear what you most value. Peace!

There is a growing crowd of full time RVers who have families. With the growing cost of rent, many want a temporary place to live with their families that their families will enjoy. Honestly I believe this is the demographic that is growing the most in the RV community. There are already many RV parks that are cater to over 55 and the non-children crowd, so you will have less competition and more business with families. An ideal park is clean. Someone came around multiple times a day to pick up trash from the curb of each RV site. There were no dumpsters. Gated - keeps random cars from driving in and out. This is very important for families. Paved roads and paved lots are great to keep RVs from sinking in the mud. People will pay more to have a paved lot. It's also easier to keep ants and other pests out of the RV. Have simple but strict rules on what was allowed at each seasonal site. One shed, one vehicle plus one motorcycle, no trash, has to be organized. Don't tow someone vehicle. Just talk to them in person. It changed everything if someone just talked to you openly about a concern vs getting an email or having someone show up to tow a vehicle. And if you do enforce the rules, which you should, be fair and consistent. Believe it or not, this is a problem in some RV parks. Then the fun stuff - clean large pool with hot tub! The one we stayed at had water park. The permits for that are hard, specially in the state of California, but the RV park was packed every single day from Memorial Day to Labor Day (2019). If no water park, try to get creative. I hardly ever see tennis courts used. But basket ball courts or small soccer fields yes. Pedal cart race tracks are becoming more common on the east coast. Hiking or biking trails near by? - Have easy access to them. Jump pillows are always loved by kids. Arts and Crafts on the weekends during the summer. The pavilion is big. Weekend events are big. Many of them even make a haunted house for Halloween and pumpkin carving contests. Playground and Dog Park are musts. This is huge, and have them in the middle, not next to the entrance. A large enough dog park with a bench to sit in. Laundry station close to where the full timers would be located. Working washer and dryers. I say that because many parks have lots of machines, but over half of them don't work. ** Offer once a month long term stay BBQ or appreciation nights for season stays in the off season. This will help build the community feel. Offer package delivery or mail pick up as an option. I would also make it very inviting for short term stays. Many RVers have a hard time finding RV parks next to major cities that are clean and inviting for families. I would advertise the RV park by making videos, 360 video tour and invite affluent KZreadrs to come and stay to make videos on the park. Hope this helps!

We went to two private campgrounds were you buy your site and can stay only 170 days out of the year, the big differences that stuck out for us , was one was only catering to older people , no playgrounds, and the speed limit was 15 on most roads, which seems so fast when there are kids running around. The other with the playgrounds, big parks and sports courts, they have a couple community centers with pool tables and air hockey. Also what you allow people to have on their sites, the older community seemed messier and more like trailer park where the other felt like you were camping in a community.

Unfortunately no. There are just too many variables that are unique to your RV experience. They can vary by RV type, what state you claim as residency, and also where you park it. I would just start by doing some basic research and getting quotes. Things to consider: RV payment, RV insurance, registration and tax. Then truck payment (if needed), truck insurance, registration and tax. Then the cost of the RV parks around your ideal location. Keep in mind that you will also need a budget for any maintenance items. There are things that can go wrong even with a brand new rig. Start there! Good luck!

We want to move to Asheville and stay around Asheville camp grounds for awhile, and him go to work while living in a camp ground, I have some questions, would bring introverts make us outcasts if we still got along with others? do people judge people if they have a older or lower cost one? Our budget would be around $10,000-$13,000. Do people get upset if you go to the store and leave your dog in a kennel inside with the ac running in a camper?

I have a house and an RV, so much value in both. Buy the house you can afford, buy the RV you can afford. I wonder about children brought up in the nomadic lifestyle. Would there be challenges to making long term friends vs just superficial, short term acquaintances because soon you or they drive off. Years ago a study was done on military kids that moved every 2 years. Later so many had so much depression and failing maintaining relationships. Maybe something to be said about growing up with the same people, you can't just get mad and drive off, you have to work issues out. Adulthood is cumulative of experience of youth, I wonder what kids brought up on the move will be like as adults.

I grew up in a military family. So did my husband. So far we have been married 13 years and we travel to visit our friends. I've been fortunate to never experience depression in my 35 years. I think life is what you make of it. If you stress out about something then your kids will too. My mom always made it an adventure and that is what I present to my kids. What is normal for one family may not be normal for another, but I found growing up in a military family allowed me to understand that more than my peers who never moved. For my kids, they get to FaceTime their friends across the county and plan out trips to see them. Not everyone enjoys this lifestyle and that's ok.

  • @theWiggyFamily

    2 жыл бұрын

Yes! This was what we faced this past year once we finished our trip across the US. I guess someone could argue that the cost of RVing has always been increasing, but with the growing popularity it made it impossible. For John and I, this reality made it impossible to find an RV resort anywhere near our new job at the start of last year. And if we did get into one, the cost was double from just two years prior. You don't always save money and you don't always have availability where you need it to be. The sad reality to stationary living! 😟

All our kids are grown up and have moved out. We both work from home. We are in the process of selling our house which is way too big for just the 2 of us and we are considering buying an RV to live in stationary while we help take care of my elderly Dad. After that we want to buy raw land to develop as a homesite and live in our RV nearby or on the land to accomplish that goal. I am really concerned about the internet since we both rely on it to work remotely. I have never used a hot spot before and don't know anything about it. We hope we can figure out that issue because all the rental home prices have gone sky high and we really want to avoid renting a home to pay down someone's mortgage since we will need the RV in the future for finding some land to build on.

I haven't had any issue with other dogs, no. But many RV parks and campgrounds did make us sign an agreement that our dogs were not a certain 'vicious' breed. It was also hard at times with the dogs because you had to have them on a leash all the time. This can get old. I had to go to the dog park often.

It's something we still dream of returning to. We miss the lifestyle! A lot has changed in the 3 years since making this video. Costs have gone way up (although that's housing and rentals too) and the competition to get into a campground or RV park can be tough with long waiting lists. And not all RV parks have a great community. The quality of RV construction has also suffered in the last two years. If you can get past those things and find the right park it really can be an amazing way to live! I would do it again in a heart beat!

Each RV park is going to be different. Prices vary greatly across the nation, so your best bet will be to call the RV parks in your area and talk to them about their prices and policies. Some require you to physically move to a different spot each month. Some parks you can stay there for years. When you call ask if they have seasonal or long term contracts. This would then be billed monthly not daily.

  • @theWiggyFamily

To tow a trailer like the grand design imagine you just need a drivers license. Some states require a separate license for Class A, but typically I think the standard is to ask for a class A license when driving anything with a combined (truck and trailer weight) over 26 thousand pounds. Best places to check is your DMV website.

There are soooo many places in the US!

  • @theWiggyFamily

    @theWiggyFamily

Well I guess that’s the main benefit and challenge of stationary Rv life vs living in a house. You don’t have to settle if you don’t want to. John and I stayed at one of the cabins at the Rv park and toured it before we hired someone to bring our rig to that park. People also change parks seasonally such as spend six months in Maine then six months in Florida. The beauty is the adventure of it. If you choose one you don’t like you get to move. But I would research areas based off your interests. Do you want to save a lot of money? Do you want to go hiking every weekend? Then from there research parks in those areas and call and talk to them. You will gain a lot about a park by talking with them.

It is a mountain! And to be honest the majority of Full Time RVers put their furniture and keepsakes in a storage. It's not a bad idea to do specially if you are just starting out. For instance, what if you didn't like full time living and wanted to go back to a traditional house? Furniture is super expensive. The other option is to keep your stuff at family or friends for some time. John and I had to practically give away much of our stuff to family and friends. Some of it we were able to sell. But it is hard to sell everything fast enough. It took us a solid week of 18 hour days moving, donating, selling, and storing our stuff. If I had to do it again I would hire two men and a truck. It would have been a lot less painful. It was also another reason we decided to be stationary at first. It gave us more time to work through our stuff we originally had to throw into a storage. Good luck!

I promised my neighbors I wouldn't give the actual RV resort out of respect for their privacy. I will say it was a Yogi Bear Jellystone Park and I believe that since John and I moved they have drastically raised their prices for monthly long term stays.

The best places to find RV parks are apps and websites such as campendium or Allstays. They will help you locate RV parks. Some RV parks offer a certain amount of seasonal sites and can have waiting lists. Best thing for you to do is call or email a campground you are interested in. Often only one employee handles the seasonal stay applications, so emailing them allows the campground to forward your email to the right person. Getting into a seasonal site can take time, so just be prepared for that. The problem with the warranty work is finding someone who accepts warranty jobs and will come out and fix it. Warranty repairs can take months to be approved and fixed. Our first fifth wheel we paid for brand new and was one of the few brands that warranted their products for full time rv living (living in the RV for more than 30 days out of the year). Only 3 companies, grand design being one of them, upheld their warranty for full time use. We were fortunate that our RV only needed minimal work that we could do ourselves. Our neighbor had the exact same RV, same model, same year, and he had terrible issues. Furnace went out twice, awning broke, and microwave all needed repairs in the first 3 months of purchasing the RV. If you know nothing about RVs then I would either watch a lot of videos on what to look for when buying a new RV, or hire someone 3rd party to inspect it and force the dealer to fix it before you take it off the lot. Hope this helps answer your question! And never pay full price. If you don't get at least 25-30% off MSRP you are being ripped off.

Don't buy brand new rvs, as soon as you drive off the lot you lose money, they depreciate. There are many dealers that will finance nice used ones for $19 to $39 up to 40 ft long. Many of these were parked on people's driveway and not very used.

Do you feel like this is typical of RV living communities or the exception?

I think it is typical of the RV parks that are geared towards kids and families. There are a lot of RV parks that have nothing in common with our experience. Just like different neighborhoods you are going to have good and bad, but it shows what is possible when you go out and talk to your neighbors and get to know them.

On the average how much money per month do you save by living in an RV ?

  • @theWiggyFamily

    @theWiggyFamily

    3 жыл бұрын

Well, it depends on your rig, your truck, and where you live. Just like in a house. You can save more money by purchasing a used RV and registering it in a state like South Dakota. But there were some costs that can really add up. Depreciation on your RV can cost you a lot when you consider the RV will need to be upgraded after 10-25 years. Other things like insurance or registering your RV in places like California can really add up. My husband and I saved money because we didn't purchase the massive truck when we had the 5th wheel, and when we sold it to purchase a class A we purchased a used one. We were saving 1.2k to 1.5k a month compared to our mortgage. Some of our neighbors didn't save any money and only did it for the freedom it provided. If you buy new and live in California, prepare for the fact that you may not save money. If you buy used and live in Florida then you would save money.

Not sure if you guys check this still. I'm single without kids. It looks like the people who live this lifestyle are mostly married. I typically am around your gaged pierced ears with multi colored hair kind of people. Most of the people I am around with are single, or just in a relationship. That's the opposite of who usually lives this lifestyle, right? Not that I'm turned off by more people with families, but I just would feel like the 3rd wheel all the time.

I think like any community or neighborhood you will find a variety of people. We had neighbors that were single, both young and old. I think what KZread displays, and even what I display, is a lot of families. Kind of 'write what you know.' But reality is there are a wide variety of people that do this. We still had a lot of single people that would join us for our potlucks and parties. The nice thing too about RVing is it is easier to move. Each RV park had a slightly different feel.

And what are your monthly costs being stationary?

We pay $850 nine months out of the year for rent plus electricity. It is a nicer resort in California. In the summer we pay $1050 plus electricity. It covers access to two pools, arts and crafts, mini golf, playground, and a dog park. We are in Idaho now and have started traveling with some boondocking. It looks like the monthly cost at some of these rv parks average $475 a month.

I should add that we paid for our rv in cash, but most people don’t. Many of them have a $300-600 monthly rv payment and then another payment for their truck. Insurance for full time living on the rv was just over a thousand dollars for one year for us. All of those together with rent would be the monthly cost of a small apartment in the same area. But what’s nice is that you can move or buy a cheaper rig to control your costs more and have the same outdoor lifestyle.

I have heard that you can pay movers to transport your rv...which seems more cost effective than buying a truck...especially if you're going to be in a space for a while. Also are you hooked up to septic?

  • @theWiggyFamily

    @theWiggyFamily

When we purchased our 5th wheel the dealership delivered it to the RV Park for no extra charge and straight to the site we wanted. It saved us thousands of dollars on purchasing the truck we didn't think we would need. If you only move once a year I would say forget the expensive truck and hire a driver. Keep in mind, the one downside is that if there is an emergency, flood warning or hurricane coming... you will not be able to get your RV out of the way like people who own the truck. And some RV parks require you to be able to move your RV due to a zoning requirement. A few parks in San Diego required you to pick up your RV and move it off property for 5 minutes before bringing it back in every 28 days. Not sure if that is still the case, but do your research first.

Yeah. That's why I suggest never buying new. First is most of your depreciation happens in the first two years including just driving it off the lot. Plus, ALL RV's have build issues that need to be fixed. If it's a couple years old most of those have already been dealt with. As for Internet, Starlink. So long as it isn't forested to block the sky better than home internet. They're just now starting to turn on roaming for some people and are expected to allow it for everyone soon. $100 for unlimited is pretty sweet.

I agree! I've been waiting for Starlink! John and I are very excited about it and will definitely try it once it comes out. It truly is a game changer for RVers and full time travelers or even those just living in more remote parts of the world. I just went on their website and checked if it was available to us, but it still says 2023.

I've never seen that, but it makes sense. Not ideal for you to have even more insurance and more costs. But it covers things your RV insurance wouldn't. When you see all the accidentally fires from RV parks... you may want it. I think 90% of apartments and rentals now require it too. Now if you are only there for a few weeks - I would be shocked to see any place require it!

No. No. No. You sold your h-house? To live in an rv park? You serious? I think I’m gonna be sick. For some context I have lived in a rv park for half my life and it’s because I didn’t have a choice. My dad was a church pastor in New York and the church couldn’t keep paying him so we had to go on a road trip to cali. We found an rv park and I am currently on year 6 of living here (gonna be year 7 in a few months) now I’m definitely grateful to be able to have a roof over my head and I appreciate my rv. But you had a house. If you have a house, stay in it and don’t and I mean DONT choose a rv park over a house. And not only do I live in an rv park me and my family at below the poverty line. Yeah, I never thought I would say that but it’s true. I’m just saying I would do the MOST to live in a house cuz in this rv park I feel trapped and it just doesn’t sit right with me. If your happy then go ahead. But I just really want a house or even a apartment. That’s all. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Two words stand out: "The Smell". Yea - I'm gonna re-think this. Also - why finance something that's gonna depreciate in value? You'll just dig yourself in deeper! Pay off your debt right away! I think that buying and living in an RV is a romantic notion, one that deteriorates fast if you're not fully committed to it. Kids in an RV? No way! Kids grow up and need space. No - this is not wise for a lifestyle with little kids.

My husband and I started camping in 1988 and we loved it. Our boys were younger when we started and they enjoyed it just as much as we did. When we were out on the campground they used to be out doing things together with the friends and there was laughter instead of fighting and screaming . The campground have activities for people of all ages so there something for everyone . My boys are now in their 40's and they still keep in touch with the kids they met while they were camping believe me they had more space and activities on the campground then if we had stayed at home. My son now has a trailer and he now goes out with his family. We camped in the summer but in the wintertime, the trailer was winterized so we don't stay in the wintertime. I enjoyed camping so much I hated to see the summer end. My husband passed away a year ago and I still spend the majority of the summer at the campground. My social life is so pleasant at the campground with sitting around a campfire and there is always someone to talk to. Looking after the black tanks is no problem as you have a pod you put in the toilet to liquify the contents, you keep the black water tanks closed until you are ready to dump then you go out and pull the handle to empty and there is no smell I am physically disabled and I do not have a problem doing everything myself. Camping is not for everyone but those that do not like the activity but have these weird misconceptions and the majority of times it is the farthest thing from the truth.
