So happy for you! Congrats! 🎉
Thank you so much for this! I start my first job as a sped para in 2 weeks, and like you, I am doing it to see if teaching would be a good fit for me. So this video has really helped me! :)

Congrats! So glad it could help you. Wishing you all the best! 🙏🏽💕
Great video! You are right on with all of these points! Teaching gets tougher and tougher each year...it's never ending. I've taught for a long time and the amount of extra work gets more and more each year even if the "teaching" part gets a bit easier.

I’ve heard many teachers say this. Praying for teachers everywhere 🙏🏽
Those pros & cons were on point. I’ve worked as a para and now a specials teacher and you hit the nail on the head 😅.

Thank you so much for this video!! I'm super excited to attend a job fair for paras coming up at my kids' school. I have a feeling this playlist is going to help me decide if this might be the route to go! I got an associate's degree ten years ago with every intention of becoming a teacher, but I only took a few classes on teaching. After having my second baby, the dream fizzled down. 4 amazing kiddos later, I think it's time to step back into my personal calling since my youngest will be in preschool this year 😅 anyway TMI I guess but I'm thrilled to have found your channel

Go for it girl! Time to let mama follow her dreams. I was a SAHM for 9 years!!!! My youngest starts kindergarten next month and I’ll start my para job too. I’m nervous and excited.
Great video and tips!!!

Thanks ma!! 💕
Great points, all so helpful. I was wondering as a paraprofessional if you had to ever be the substitute teacher for the class(es) you worked in.

I did several times when they had to leave early or if they had to step away for a meeting or training and didn’t have coverage.
Great video ❤

Do you think so many meetings and trainings that teachers must attend are necessary? Do you feel that they make you a better teacher?

I understand the benefits, but it does feel like too much at times. I’m still trying to figure out things inside the classroom, so having so many outside responsibilities can become overwhelming.
As a teacher or paraprofessional, do you choose which grade you will work with or is it based on the school's needs?

Some administrations will ask your preference and will try to make it work, but it ultimately is based on the needs of the school.
As a paraprofessional, did you work in one classroom or did you assist in multiple classrooms?

I’ve done both. I assisted in one class when I was a 1-on-1 sped para. Then I became a 4th grade sped para so I assisted in multiple classes.
I'm currently a Para Educator at a High School and I have 6 periods with one planning period. I'm a study hall teacher and have access to their Edgenuity and FLVS to unlock unit tests and do reviews. Pay grade is much higher and that's enough responsibility for now 😊

@@_lovelykristenas a man and my demeanor I set my boundaries fast and backed it up with admin intervention and referrals. After the rules were set, I now can finally show them I'm here to help and encourage them to earn those credits they are lacking. Juices and hot Cheetos helps lol
