I like the fact that norfolk is big enough to have its own culture and that you definitely feel like your living in a city, but not soo big that its overwhelming. I'm not that much of a gambler, and have only been to the Portsmouth casino twice with family, but I like the idea of the Norfolk casino because it would be built in what is currently a giant parking lot and along side harbor park, and the Amtrak station. I'm hoping the casino would result in that parking lot being turned into a neighborhood with its own unique identity. One pro that I would add are the festivals. It seems like there's always some type of festival going on, and Harbor Fest is one of the best festivals in the entire nation. A con that doesn't get mentioned is that there is a lack of regional cooperation that holds the city back from reaching its potential. Despite that, norfolk is always changing. Norfolk feels way bigger than it was 10 years ago, and im convinced that 10 years from now, the city will feel even bigger if the leadership plays its cards right.

Hi Sam...video suggestion: The current state of ALL Hampton Roads traditional indoor shopping malls (not including outlets). From what I observe, One is doing pretty well (lynnhaven) , the others ain't. But perhaps you are capable of doing this in more detail.

TBH about INDOOR MALLS in general, basically in all the MAJOR CITIES, we could say it's going out of style. In SOME cases partly due to crime, "dash & grab." But mostly because ONLINE SHOPPING is easier & more PROFITABLE for Retailers versus having so many brick & mortar businesses to operate. They are about their "bottomlines" of course. So especially since COVID, they don't have to have as many employees, utility bills & OVERHEAD. The newer construction TRENDS are building OPEN AIR outdoor & DESIGNER Outlet Malls. In some cities they're turning what were once beautiful malls into OFFICE PARK type BUSINESS Malls. That goes for LA CHICAGO HOUSTON ATLANTA, & States like New Jersey Minnesota Massachusetts etc.... So it DOESN'T "necessarily" equate to a "decline" in the city themselves. Norfolk is a beautiful city to only have about 200,000 people. The realtors there hardly ever VIDEO the gifts of Ocean View or East Beach & I AM sure for good reason. Jewels that great you want to keep a secret LOL. VIRGINIA BEACH is great too. 💖😍💯
