What are the pros and cons of living in Greenwood Indiana? In this video we'll find out. I'll go through 3 pros and 3 cons of living in Greenwood Indiana. Greenwood, Indiana is known as THE suburb on the south side of Indianapolis. If someone mentions the south side usually they are referring to Greenwood. There are other small towns nearby but Greenwood, Indiana is certainly the largest. There are roughly 60,000 people that call Greenwood home making it one of the largest suburbs surrounding Indianapolis, Indiana. However, Greenwood is located on the south side making it unique in at least this way. There are a number of reasons to like a place such as Greenwood but there are some reasons not to love it too. Is Greenwood, Indiana a good fit for you? I don't know that for sure but hopefully this video will help with your decision.

Just bought a home at University Park in Greenwood in November and love it. We are new to the State of Indiana. Lots of change for sure but absolutely love the beauty of nature all around us and especially the kind warmhearted people of Indiana. I enjoy your videos, subscribed and been watching for about a year now. You have been very helpful with gaining knowledge of what each suburb is like surrounding Indianapolis and all it has to offer. ;)

No the con is that sped trap on Worthsville Rd right after you get off of the interstate. As an out of towner I learned that the hard way.
Schools are great with Greenwood having a strong band program and Center Grove having strong sports, music and band programs.

Hey Jason, Quick question for you: Are either of the airports (greenwood or indianapolis international) a problem in Greenwood as far as noise is concerned? Thanks!

Greenwood is pretty small. Mostly small single engine planes fly out of there and on occasion jets. But, not too bad in the way of noise. Living near Indy International could be an issue if you're in one of the approach/departure paths.
Another way to get to downtown is Bluff Road. I live at the county line of Marion County and Johnson County. I can get to downtown in 10 minutes taking Bluff.
I love living in greenwood
Ill revoke my earlier greenwood comment, I agree that the access to bloomington from greenwood is good. Encourages kids to go to a quality college, in a not hostile town.

Lots and lots of homeowners in Greenwood and quite a family friendly place. Not really a lot of transients.
The GPD does a very good job of keeping its citizens safe. In terms of someone else's comment on Franklin, it also has its rough spots. But Franklin is an absolutely beautiful city. The downtown area of Franklin is gorgeous and has the college campus to add to it. The downtown restaurants are awesome as well. Highly recommend giving Franklin a check out!

The Greenwood city park Amphitheater.
Greenwood suburbs and neighborhoods with houses that are equally spaced and identical are genuine hell. I get that it’s probably financially sound and convenient for families, but it’s terrible for young adults. It’s just so dead and you need a car to do basically anything.

You certainly will need a car in most places around Indy. There are a few spots where you could likely get away without having one but Greenwood is not one of those places.
Crime is getting out of control in Greenwood the new Indianapolis which is the new Chitcago!

There was a mall shooting a couple of months ago. Today, there was a gang shooting. Not a good look for this town. It's a pretty sketchy area.
In pro #1 you say Greenfield....not Greenwood.

Whoops! A little slip. I live in Greenfield so it slips out sometimes when I'm talking about Greenwood. The same things happens when I talk about Greenfield.
It just played clips, wouldn't play the video.
We could definitely do with more diversity and inclusiveness here. That’s my only personal con honestly.
Pro=closer to Louisville.
