I lived in Fairfield from November 1980 thru April 2020, when I moved to Spokane, WA, to retire. I could not afford a home in Fairfield with my pension and Social Security, but was I was easily able to purchase a home in Spokane (my mortgage payment is currently $999). My rent in Fairfield (for a 2-bedroom house) went from $1400 to $1750 in just a couple of years. My landlord had wanted to raise it to $2100--"based on comps in the area," he said--but I negotiated down to $1750 because I was going to retire in a year and leave the state. He knew we had lived in the house since 2005 and had kept it nice, so he was willing to come down a bit for that year. Fairfield's a decent place to live if you find the right neighborhood, and woe to you if you don't. For example, the day after we left town, the police swooped in and arrested everyone living in a rented home next door to us. Turns out, they were running a motorcycle chop shop in the back yard.

I used to live in Suisun City and several times the winds were more than 40 mph for a few days and it destroyed our hot tub gazebo structure. It was in the summertime

California is only interesting if you live in the economic zone like the bay area. If you have to live in fairfield, you may as well move to other states, such as oregon and nevada, which do not have state tax.

Thanks for sharing. I respectfully disagree - Fairfield offers close proximity to the “economic zones” you mention, while not having to pay the exorbitant house prices. This allows a lot of people to capitalize on Bay Area salaries while stretching their dollar further in the north bay. There are also highly rated schools, comfortable climate year round, and wine county is a quick drive away. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I went to junior high in Suisun City and I can tell you that is not the Suisun Marsh (stock footage).

You would need to purchase a co-op key to access our supras. It's fairly inexpensive but requires 2 yearly payments. Let me know if I can be of any help to you or your buyers

Was might be right

Lived in Fairfield my whole life .. not worth it. Moved to Vacaville it’s way nicer and is closer to the hiking spots ( if you like hiking) has more things to do and not as bad as a drive when going to other cities. Plus the people are more friendly and not ghetto .

Planning to buy our first house in fairfield next year.is 500k budget is okay?our priority is school cuz we have 3 kids that is going to school..thank you in advance

Hi John, My apologizes for the delay as this comment was filtered. Fairfield home values have really appreciated in the past few years. There are some neighborhoods that still sell around $500,000 but you would need to look at greatschools.org to establish which schools the home is assigned to as it varies quite a bit. Greatschools.org is a great resource to find a district or school you feel may be the right fit and then searching in that radius. Happy to chat further about your personal/family goals. You should just move to Sacramento Fairfield is a dump I went to Dover middle school I'm Fairfield and there was kids in the 7th grade that were expelled for smoking crack in the bathroom no shit do your homework don't move there terrible place to raise your kids

Fairfield is probably the best place in the state to live for your dollar, as it is only half an hour away from the San Francisco Bay area, but half the cost of living. You can actually get a nice home for $300-400K

@@ErikaMonroeSolanoCountyRealtor no, I never have been. I’ve been there and Travis AFB a retired Air Force man and seen the home prices listed and testimonies from former Air Force that lived there. But like I said, a totally different world not too far from it. A childhood acquaintance of mine lives in San Ramon and a business attorney living comfortably.

How is Vacaville compares to Fairfield?

There are SEVERAL desirable neighborhoods in Vacaville as well...arguably fewer homes in an entry level/first time homebuyer range. Folks who have to commute to SF or East bay will likely try to stay further west in Fairfield. Those who don't may prefer the well manicured city of Vacaville. I will be working on a Vacaville video soon! Do you have any specific questions?

Are there any tiny home areas, lots, We live in a skoolie, we are completely of grid for solar, 100 tank fresh water, Grey water tant, compost toilet. I'm being offered a great paying job, in my field and my husband works from home (Skoolie) . I would love a small house, with the ability to park our 30 foot skoolie. 11 feet tall and over 8 feet wide, on the side of a small home. Any sugestions?

Where in Fairfield is the view of the snow top mountain while kayaking? 😂. I lived in FF my whole life and never seen it. Great marketing 👌🏻

@daveshreeve4413 you can see mount Diablo from Fairfield/Suisun area on a clear day. It's only about 50 miles away. It rarely snows but when cold enough it does in the winter. Go look on a map. It's literally across the Suisun bay.

So so disappointed they're sending us there.😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
