Back in the 1950s and 1960s, Dallas was an engineering town. Some very important patents resulted from the engineering talent back then. The patents created wealth, and the wealth created jobs. This, along with the opening of DFW Airport, turned Dallas into a giant job engine. We had little rural towns with 1,000 people which now have 43,000 residents. We now have 7.9 million people now living in a hot, flat, windy place because of the talent we had back then.

The example of registration fee for Auto is not a fair comparison. Texas most state highways are toll, unlike California. Here the toll taxes alone can be $600 to 800 per annum.

Best place is the usa is definitely new york 🗽🗽. So beautiful and fun place.

One very important cons missed out is new jobs aren't created proportionately to the population growth. Most of the IT guys moved here are working remotely, not local IT jobs. This is very critical. Another Cons is tolls. If you have to drive to work, you'll spend alot on tolls. For ppl coming from NJ/NY, almost no public transportation. You have to drive to work and youll end up in typical traffic jams. He is comparing prices with California, so Dallas seems cheap. Its not true compared to a lot of other states. California of course is a lot costly due to political and economic reasons.

One of my key criteria is good middle/high school moving all the way from NY. I have researched a bit about schools being ISD and trying to understand the competition level.

Plano Frisco have good schools including middle and high schools . You will find Indians in all areas but definitely in Plano Frisco Allen and now even prosper and Celina

And mountains and 38% of the state is forested. Texas has a canyon half the size of the Grand Canyon. People inside and outside the state know little to nothing about the geography of Texas.

Living in Dallas Texas is like living in Death valley. No winter here.I have lived in Dallas for 10 years. If u love outdoors i would not recommend moving here.

1. TX is boring - no natural beauty, no activities - it’s not comparable to CA 2. You will never get bored of nature but your homes you will get bored. You think TX homes are cheaper but that’s for a reason. There is no comparison to apples (CA) and bananas (TX). 3. Salaries and talent - huge difference between TX and CA. CA beats it!!!! Property taxes in TX high. CA - state tax is high. 4. Weather - TX heat has to be experienced. People rave that the weather is like India. No way!! It’s worse than India. honestly from late spring to late fall - you can’t do much until 8pm and your day is done by then. It feels like desert in summer which can last for most of the year 😊. It’s not like you can happily roam outside. Winters are ok in TX - that’s all.
