Proposed bill to will reduce small parties in councils

New plans that will reduce the number of small parties in councils and
change the rules for no-confidence motions have now been gazetted in
parliament.
Under the proposed bill, a party would have to win more than 1% of the
votes in a council to be represented.
Senior researcher at Public Affairs Research Institute Dr Thina Nzo weighs in.

Small parties cause disruptions in municipalities! There must be one motion of no confidence in two years!

That's not a good idea to exclude minorities.

Wonderful , most welcoming ,and a bit delayed , though. Wouldve benefitted this elections and maybe reconsider the 1% to alittle more votes 🗳 required. 😊

The proposed bill sounds promising, it is long overdue. I wish the minimum was 2%
