Proper Technic to Plant Calamansi, Iwas Lugi!!
Planting Calamansi is not the same as other fruit bearing trees. Dwarfing due to root girdling is often taken for granted but it can be avoided with proper planting procedures.
Dwarfing can result in lost opportunities for the farm because of root girdling and may not be felt months or even years after planting.
It takes only a few mindful steps to plant Calamansi properly and avoid the possibility of root girdling / dwarfing.
Procedure:
1. Hole width should be 2x the size of the seedling bag. If the planting area was not tilled then the size of the hole should be 3x-4x the size of the seedling bag
2. Place organic matter & fertilizer first
3. Cover with soil
4. Ready the planting material & remove the seedling bag
5. Remove the top soil of the seedling bag & look for the FIRST MAJOR Root
6. Prune all the roots above the first major root
7. Prune or re-orient all spiraling and upward oriented roots
8. Place the Calamansi in the hole & cover with soil up to the level of the first major root only
9. Water ASAP
10. Remove all flowers & fruits, shoulf there be any
For flat surfaced planting areas, make sure elevate the specific planting cite to avoid water clogging.
Monitoring regularly.

Sa amin po, bo choice na kami kundi palitan. May root pruning method po para matanggal ang root girdle pero hindi guaranteed yung possible results and may waiting time din.
Thanks po s mga napakainformative na mga video uploads nyo...ask ko lng po, pwede po b ang kalamansi s maliit na property like 1000sqm or less than 100 trees, possible din po ba maging profitable?

Kung 3m x 3m na spacing 110 trees po ang kasya. To maximize yun area, best to do intercropping with high value crops

@@agrivibestv sir me napanood po akong video from other vlogger about sa spacing, not recommended pero pwede daw ang 2.5m x 2.5m...ano pong disadvantages nun?

Pwede naman po ang 2.5m x 2.5m yun lang pagdating ng 2 years onwards mahihirapan ang Calamansi na mag canopy at magsanga so ang tendency ay tatangkad sila hindi lalapad. And pagdikit dikit na mawawalan ng sunlight access na mag encourage ng pests at fungus less yield. Better to focus on yield per tree. Depend sa lot area nyo konti lang naman ang difference kung 3m x 3m. Mas madami pa ibubunga kung maluwag area ng halaman.

May tanim po kami mga langka and hindi po kami nag root pruning sa kanila, ok naman po so far.

Most ng bonsai or dwarf na nakita namin po so ay mga nasa container nakatanim kaya restricted ang root growth. Sa pag linya po kuha lang kayo ng starting reference and lagay ng tali (rope) hanggng sa ending reference para tuwid.
