I have been shown how to pat people down several different ways, but we have been doing this a long time too and have found that this is the most efficient way to do a pat down. If the way you pat down works for you, then it works for you and don't change it, but for those getting into the industry for the first time, and how we pat down at the clubs we manage, this is how we do it.

Collar, feet, upper mid-back, groin, anus, and mouth... ahh, I could've had a 1-6 suppressor, a boot-knife, a potassium cyanide capsule, two paperclips, a phone, a decent amount of drugs, and a small handgun stowed away and he wouldn't have found them.

I would feel the shoes for symmetry. People might hide weapons either on the side or the front. Also, always search baseball-style caps for hidden razor blades.

Is the main goal to find weapons or drugs? I worked for a club with a strict policy on drugs and our searches were much stricter. For instance, we would have the patron remove their shoes and lift up their feet so we could feel if there was anything hidden in their socks.

Yes that is the main objective to this video. Removing of the shoes is interesting. At one place, we use to dump ladies purses into a bucket and check them that way.

One important thing to remember...in most states it is illegal for a private business to pat one down. You can ask but the person can decline. At which point you either welcome them or deny them entry. You also cannot search for drugs only weapon/s.

What about belt knives and lapel knives (or really anything hidden in the lapel)

I don't know where this guy thinks that's a proper pat down. Never pat somebody down from the front way to much can go wrong.... WTF... Can anybody say a knee to the face,or a punch to the back of the head🤯

This is actually the proper way to do a club Pat down. The patron isn't gonna knee the guard or punch the back of his head If the patron is trying to go club and have a great time. He's gonna let the guard pat him down. This is a proper pat down for a club. A pat down from Behind with hands on head, fingers interlock and you hold his hands on his head while patting him down, is proper police pat down. I'm a security guard. I've worked in clubs and concerts for the last 3 years and this is how I pat down

Yes, you can pat down anyone who enters your home but keep in mind that you'll lose 40% of your visitors :P

So wrong 1) u not suppose to search his pocket, suppose to ask the person to remove the item out the picket 2) u supposed to use the back of your hand to search the front pockets 3) not suppose to search his back pocket, that’s sexual harassment

What's wrong with hand scanners and drug sniffing dogs vs personal invasion of a persons body and personal space. Pat downs are a form of intimidation and belong only in a police state.

Elijah King it’s a private company and they can perform whichever security measure they see for keeping their premises safe. If people think it’s too extreme, they don’t go and the club goes out of business. If some people are ok with it. The club stays in business. If you are not ok with it. You don’t go. It’s that simple
