    I agree with most proper hamster care but sometimes people come off so snobby and rude. Most people cant afford all the proper hamster items all in one go, in ny opinion as long as your constantly improving it doesnt matter as much if your cage has less enrichment in there. (Obviously you need to keep buying things to fill it) Basically, Work with what you have

    @paigenpets you agree, yet you are the one being snobby. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 3rd design. It is probably the most affordable option.

  • @paigenpets

    @paigenpets

    I don't intend to be snobby, sorry if I come off that way. The third design is wrong because: 1. Too small 2. Wheel is way too small for that hamster 3. No enrichment 4. Only 1 hide 5. No sandbath (an essential for hamsters) 6. Likely not enough bedding (based on size and height of cage)

    Just wanted to point out, bin cages aren't bad as long as you get a correct size and still put enough natural substances and enrichment.

  • @paigenpets

    True, but there isn't a bin that's large enough for a hamster (at least in the US)

    @@paigenpets Here is how to make one you go to home depot get the larges plastic bin there and get something to put on the top of the cage so they can breath and good way to attach it is with super glue my bin cage is 900 square inches and I live in Virginia.

  • @paigenpets

    @paigenpets

    The largest bin in home Depot is the 50 gallon sterilite stacked bin, which is still too small. I myself had that bin and although the top measurement is around 900 sq inches, the actual measurements of the cage (measured at the middle) is 560 sq inches. This is because bins taper down, so you need to measure at the middle of the bin, otherwise you won't be able to get an accurate measurement.

    If a bin cage is big enough and has a lot of enrichment is it okay I’m wondering because a lot of people have said not to use bin cages but other people like Victoria raechel and he pancake the hamster said they are good

  • @paigenpets

    @paigenpets

    10 ай бұрын

    If a bin cage is big enough it's a great option! But unfortunately there aren't any available in the US over the minimum. I don't think Victoria Raechel promotes bin cages anymore for this reason, and there may be suitable sized bins in the UK that Pancake promotes. Always remember to measure your bin from the middle, NOT the top to get an accurate measurement, since bins taper up!

    i'm gonna veto on the bar cage video. not only is it far too crowded but also i see so many nooks that a small paw can get stuck in, including the willow tunnel for dwarves. i would absolutely not risk having my pet chew or climb on the bars and injuring themselves. also i have a golden rule of not lifting the roof off the nest as long as the hamster is inside, even if they chose their bathroom to be in the multichamber hide. there are ways to make the cleanup easier and far less stressful for the animal. other than that, very good compilation! 👍

    Interesting take! I agree that I probably would never use a barred cage due to the possibility of them climbing the bars and falling.

    Just found your channel and I have a LOT of questions! 1. Is a 40 gallon Aquarium suitable for a dwarf or Syrian hamster? 2. Where do you get all of the herbs and sprays for enclosures? This includes wood blocks and ANYTHING natural. 3. If the 40 gallon aquarium is not suitable, what would you recommend using? 4. I have a sand bath, 10 inch wheel, 4 sprays and herbs, water and food (food is spread out) big cork hideout, Niteangel multi chamber one and 8 inches of bedding and a bunch of pet store toys? Please give me constructive criticism, (people in the comment section, help me out too!!)

    Personally, I like the German minimum of 775 sq inches, so I think the 40 gallon is too small. This week's video will actually be all about the best hamster cages! I get sprays from Niteangel on Amazon, and Getzoo. I get cork logs from Petco, other natural items from Niteangel, and have a lot of DIY items. If you have a Syrian, I'd recommend upgrading to a 11+ inch wheel and adding a bit more bedding. Also you could add more hideouts, some substrates like Cocosoil, corncob, etc, more sprays, and some diy boredom breakers and toys as well. Thanks for all the questions, I hope that was helpful! 😊
