'Proper' Fishing at Carp Arena (Belgium) | Danny Fairbrass

Спорт

The Gaffer, @tom_stokes_ and friends head over to northern Belgium to experience the fishing on offer at the newly acquired Embryo Europe complex... @carparena !
.
With only an hours travel from Calais needed, the lads waste no time in getting spots found, bait applied and fishing underway across the complex of lakes.
.
In this 'test fishing' trip, DF and Stokesy choose to fish Clover Mere. An ancient pit… that's crystal clear, choked with weed and home to some seriously cool carp to over 60lb’s!
.
Sit back, relax and join the crew for some ‘proper’ European fishing, as they look unlock the complex code, all the while sharing their technical and tactical approaches to the fishing along the way.
.
If you love what you see, and want a chance to fish the complex for yourself. It is open for booking in 2024, so please contact the Carp Arena team on the details below for further information, pricing and availability!

    Jealousy and those moaning about videos always selling stuff obviously don't understand a company doing nearly all of it themselves have to plug their products. Be dumb not too. I know some of it seems useless but if there's a market you sell to it.

    Yeah becoming aware of your own mortality focuses you on what is important and he has uttered a number of profound things since which still resonate…like no carp angler is really famous, they just like to think they are…true. But also it reminds me too like Jay Leno with all those multi million pounds worth of cars in his collection, what’s the point, you can only drive one car at once. You can only fish one lake at once too. And if your tactics are wrong or the fish aren’t feeding you still won’t catch monsters. Sometimes the “richer” man is the less stressed, the happier guy, who can do what he wants, when he wants without the burden of business pressure and responsibility. Without getting recognised on the bank by people who just have to talk and bug you, so you have to fish exclusive places to avoid all of that unwanted attention. The grass is always greener, except in reality it often isn’t. Your own health is the most important thing of all.

    Cracking water that. Tom had too many hook pulls frankly. On such a weedy water I would have fished strong mono. The reason being once a fish is weeded and the line locked, there is no give at all on that short link of braid, making it so much easier for the fish to tear the hook free. On weedy lakes sometimes the fish don’t have the toughest of mouths either. You had boats to go out in to drag them from the weed once you are above them, so it’s just that bit of cushioning and stretch in mono can make all the difference. Yeah I know “ who is this guy saying this” you don’t know me, but I had my own very weedy lake in France for over 12 years so this opinion is backed. by a hell of a lot of practical experience and over 40 years of regularly fishing in Europe. I use braid on the huge etangs fishing mega distances to 400metres plus where you have to. Smaller weedy lakes it’s a minimum of 20lb plus mono for me by preference and a long tough shock leader, but still with some stretch in it to cushion and reduce hook pulls. You will get some, but nowhere near as many when fish get weeded.

    @superflyjimmysnucka9068

    The rig swivel inserts into the top of the COG lead. The lead swivel is on a lead clip. So once the fish picks up the lead and shakes its head, the rig swivel releases. Then if the lead becomes snagged? It works as a normal lead clip system. 👍
