If you earn less than 15k you have no business buying a car, especially on finance. Use taxis and Uber(sparingly). Save your money and get something for 50k-60k cash or even less but not on finance. Petrol and other car maintenance expenses will kill you.

You were correct to say Category A cars are those that were better maintained and/or low mileage cars and/or dekra report having minimal or no mechanical issues, hence, why financial institutions choose to finance them.

Great question, I would say it's a great thing if you could take a mechanic with you or someone that know cars well, just to avoid buying a car that will give you problems and cost you more money.

I've done some research and saw that the Audi's they got under R200k have high mileage ( over 150 000km ) ( 2 or 3 under 150 000km). So you can either consider the BMW 1 series or Golf 7 because there's quite a few in good condition under R200k with low mileage. ( Make sure to check the Dekra reports to fully get an idea of the condition of the cars ).

Thanks for the question, so if I understand your question correctly, the usual months of repayment if you finance is 72 months, but you can decide if you want to pay the car off quicker, so instead of 72, you can pay off over 60 months, or 50, all depend on what suits your pockets. The quicker you pay off the less interest you pay to the bank.

Dekra takes into account both the mechanical & body condition - one dent won't necessarily change the rating if everything else is in a great condition.

You spent so little time inside the Audi 😢
