I have been tossing around in my head the idea of turning my 03 Caravan in a mini RV or buying a pop up camper. Keep in mind that I have an SUV tent that I can use with the build. Please let me know what you think.which ever will have to have a kitchenette. Puls sleeping and some sort of TV or DVD. Lots of things I will be considering.

I love the video and the important details about it specifically for who is going to install it in a camper van, but the price is too expensive for me.

I’m considering putting this very stove in my off grid cabin. Thank you for making this video. It’s very helpful and it also confirmed my thought about the back burner being too close to the wall. I think I’m going to position the stove lengthwise so the nobs would be on the right side instead of in the front.

@@madetoexplore Did you use the regulator that came with the unit? If not, what did you use? I want to operate it off of a 1 lb cylinder vs a larger tank due to space issues. Do you think a 1 lb tank ( those Coleman cylinders) would work? I would add a shut-off valve for the same safety reasons you shared. Thx again

@@adriennef1770 I didn’t actually. I used the regulator that came with the hose assembly. Yes, I think one of those cylinders would work just fine! Our 11lb tank lasts forever so I think a 1lb tank would save a lot of space.

I have the same as your video (Thermometer propane cooktop in a Promaster Van)

There are a number of stoves that look just like this one, and it’s likely they all come out of the same Chinese factory.

Hi i finally got my stove only problem is the part number you listed for regulator was for somethng else i need to get a long hose anyway looking forward to getting it running

I installed a top, almost exactly like this one, in my rv, looks great, works great, but had to remove the grate and the the other little pieces while driving, lots of rattle noises, and the little burner caps would bounce off... replaced with a regular rv cook top

Yeah I was worried about this when I first installed it but it’s really not bad at all. I’ve been down some REALLY bad washboard logging roads too. Never had the stove bounce apart.

I have that one too to install. I have all the supplies. my fear and question is do you ever have a fear of propane leakage? I like to light candles (yes with air flow and just for a little bit) and just want to feel confident and comfortable. Since I'm installing myself I just want to make sure I do a safe job.

It’s important to test all the connections using a spray bottle with soap and water. If there’s a leak, bubbles will appear. We also always turn the propane off at the bottle after using the stove. You can also purchase a propane sensor that will alert you if there’s a leak.

I like your stove - have you considered making a cover for it?

Thanks man! Glad you found it useful 👍 we still love this stove and get so much use out of it. The only thing we’ve experienced is that the paint is starting to chip a bit on the handles but the stove comes with a spare which is nice.

Hi David still waiting on m y unit but wanted to ask you how do you keep bugs out of your vent pipe i live in high desert of NE Arizona and we get a variety of small bugs that seem to love the propane water heater i have

I have a piece of pipe going from my vented box through my floor and then sticking out the bottom of the van. I would get some very small mesh screen and fasten it around the bottom of the pipe to keep the bugs out!

Awesome video! Curious where did you get your stainless steel guard from? We have a similar set up with peel and stick tile so want to make sure the flame doesn’t get too close.

Sorry I don’t have much experience with that stovetop! Depends on how much space you have. The easiest option would be the small 1lb bottles for sure.

Did you put a grate or screen on top of your vent.is 3/4 " enough I was thinking of doing 4" pvc with a grate.

Yes I did. I think 3/4” is enough. If you want more air flow installing 2- 1” vents would provide more of a steady stream.

I have a question...do you remove all the top parts (grill and burners) when you are moving (driving)? Because of injuries if you have an accident...

No we don’t and i think there would be a lot more to worry about than the stove top. Have you seen an RV/trailer crash? There is little things EVERYWHERE.

Could you attach a tube to the vent outlet on the propane tank itself and run the other end of the tube out the bottom of the van instead of having to build a concealed cabinet?

Except that wouldn't protect you in case of a leaky valve, regulator or hose (at least the part in the cabinet).

Is that a 12” wide cabinet you’ve got it set in?

It’s an 18” wide cabinet. 12” might be cutting it a little close but it would probably fit

How long does the 10lb tank last you? Having a hard time deciding between then 10 and 20 but don’t know how long the 10 would last.

Go with a 10lb or even a 5lb. Our 10 lb honestly lasts forever and we use it to cook every meal.

Just bought that same one my my tinyhy. It came with a regulator. Do you suggest I put the regulator on the tank or connect it to the stove? The directions are 100% useless lol.

I didn’t actually use the regulator that came with the stove. I used a prefabricated hose that had a regulator near the propane bottle connection.

1. Please do not add music to any demo or tour video. DIY, demo, tour, wildlife, cooking videos should never have music. 2. Demo starts past the halfway point. Please get to the point fast. We never saw any install. This would have been helpful. 3. Good view of underneath! That was very helpful. Also where it connected. I would add a retainer clip closer to the connection so it does not come unplugged from gravity. With regard to rattle, some felt strips, or rubber strips would do the trick. Add them wherever there is a rattle. I also found silicone waffle oven pads at Walmart/Amazon and you can slip one under the burners to remove metal on metal clanking. Underneath the stove, I would also stick a piece of Noico sound deadening material or Mass Loaded Vinyl to mask sound. This changes the clang into a softer thuk sound. Steel sinks all have this coating underneath. Great stuff for any metal panels on your car /van too. It weighs a lot! So use sparingly. The only downside to this design is that both burners are very close together, so its difficult to use bigger pans - less clearance. I'm debating this feature over a 4 burner stove. I do love the simplicity of this stove though and the smaller footprint. Also good to mention, that the BTUs are 9600 and 6500 for each burner large to small. This is decent. Anything around 5000 - 3000 BTU is worthless. Anything with very high BTU like the Camp Chef Everest camping stoves must be used outside - high heat hazard. I think I will get this stove, nice compact, easy to clean design with decent BTU and price tag. Furrion is overpriced and too hyped up for nothing.

Couldn’t be more wrong actually. If you have a vented cabinet it’s legal!

I just checked amazom and a number of people have said the stove top is junk why are u claiming it's something special people say the company is hard to deal with I see most of videos are pushing stuff for money

I make zero money and don’t care if you purchase it or not. This is based on my experience. It’s been an awesome cooktop that’s performed perfectly over the past 2 years. The people who give it bad reviews clearly don’t know how to install it properly.
