    That would be something wouldn't it? Unfortunately, "All men will hate you because of me..." That's the evidence of his brotherhood to Christ. If you watch Big Bro's path (The Real Big Bro that is...) First it was a big crowd and as things got deeper and more 'exposing' only a few stuck around...and eventually even the few fled.

    I love this poem. Yes justice, before reconciliation!!

  • @drmayojr

    @drmayojr

    2 жыл бұрын

    So, real question and not baiting or trying to be a troll… what is justice in your eyes? Real question. I am not denying the pain and suffering of slaves in our history. Understanding that our history is not a long one and that many people in this country have grandparents that heard stories directly from their parents and grandparents. I also understand, as best I can, that those things, those stories, that suffering, has lasting effects on generations beyond those who suffered terribly. I also cannot deny the suffering and long lasting effects of segregation, of Jim Crow laws and of the attitudes, especially in the south post Civil War. Still, I don’t know what justice means in this context. How do we measure justice in this case and with that meaning? I ask, because the only way to truly accomplish something is by knowing what it is and being able to measure it. By establishing those measurements, it becomes possible to begin to systematically accomplish those measurements to accomplish the overall goal of justice and then reconciliation. I cannot begin to imagine all aspects of being the child, grandchild, and beyond of a former slave or to have lived through the civili rights era and before as a black person. Similarly, I can’t fathom what justice would mean in those contexts.

    7/6/19 homeless dude was walkin in to get that good, free, and loudly proclaimed fair trade fluids that my brother's and sister's (in christ) brew on sundees. def wasn't staying for the sermon, and sans the 81% aggressive "enjoy your coffee, have a blessed day" from the parking lot mc, it's the best damned coffee in louisville. i was out smokin w/ psalm 73 and father louis. the worship inside is a stumbling stone for me. (hold this sparkler.) maybe i'm holdin the wrong end? "why am i here?" said the fear. homeless dude came out and i caught his goodwill shirt: "EAT WITH THE ONES YOU STARVED WITH!" ah...men.... got it off him for $12. wore it inside like a humble beast. pray for this pastor. (his twitter brought me here. tweeted it back when the masters of southern divisivinity were allowing their brown pastors to speak up in the big house.) good to know where all the humble beast shirts i see at our evangelical watering hole's got their start. here's to 2020 vision. make christianity magdalenic again.

    The hate on this piece of art that paints a picture of reality is ridiculous, and all you haters prove Prop's argument. Doesn't Jesus and justice go together?

  • @PaulOnMars

    @PaulOnMars

    7 жыл бұрын

    "Doesn't Jesus and justice go together?" The justice of God doesn't go with Jesus, but through Him. Justice is getting exactly what we deserve, and we all know what that is. True justice should be the nightmare for all of us sinners, but for Christ. In Christ the justice we all deserve was poured out on the son alone. Therefore, our salvation is justice, but at a price only God could endure. When we say, "we want justice" we're not actually saying that WE want justice, but that we want someone else to experience justice. Justice takes its price. Justice does not weigh infraction in parts, but as a whole. Knowing that God's justice is unyielding, I can only say that I want justice because I already know that that justice comes through Christ. If justice fell upon the shoulders of any other... It would not have be satisfied. We would still be fearing payday, someday.

    Question - what is the solution(s)? This is beautiful (as usual, Prop, well done) but it leaves me begging the question above. The problems are real, they're tangible, and to ignore them is folly. But that's not the end, so how do we move toward solutions, peace, a future that honors the reality of the past and seeks to build from it...what does that look like?
