“Place” proofing with our current crew!
Many dogs are afraid, anxious, or impulsive around new items. By giving them a job to do (relax on your bed) they have time to observe and adjust to their surroundings without being overwhelmed with too much spatial pressure. We reward good choices or reset as needed. It’s also a perfect opportunity to practice muzzle and/or sound conditioning. Taking time to practice like this helps build their confidence and impulse control while preparing them for real-world scenarios/items.
