Andre Drummond was like a 39% FT shooter his first 5 years as a Piston. His 6th season if I recall, he suddenly bumped his FT shooting up dramatically to like 65%. When he was asked about it, and I'm paraphrasing, he said that he just had to put in the work. 😂 Took the man 5 years surrounded by NBA players and coaches, kind of was the key component on those Pistons teams, to figure out he needed to practice free throw shooting to become a better free throw shooter.

I really hope that kid does well. He worked his ass off and has earned it
I think this applies to (my favorite player in the 2010s😔) Russell Westbrook. The difference is he could shoot a decent jumper in the mid range and he was so athletic he could just be a slashing scoring playmaking guard and it worked for the time being (meaning getting to the WCF and finals, his strengths far outweighed his weaknesses). But there were mechanical issues with his jump shot and sometimes the speed he played at allowed for no rhythm to shoot effectively. I remember him trying to listen to the criticism and be more selfless and play different and it basically didn’t have him play to his strengths the team needed and he reverted. I think it takes some hard coaching, some time of being uncomfortable and taking a temporary decline to your game, some hard training but it can pay off in the end in making a more lethal effective player and prolonging his benefit to a team in the NBA

He has 2 years left on his contract. "Soon" is relative, I suppose.
Jumpshooting and just shooting overall is mentality and effort based, anyone can become a good shooter as long as they practice, practice, practice.
Thank You! You’ve Helped Me Win Many Arguments With This Statement.
I wish I could have Ben Simmon's talent.

Then why he shooting 15% from three in the league
Even Giannis has improved on his three point shots. This shows that hard work supersedes talent.
Simmons is the kid in school who didn't turn in his homework on Monday, got an extension for next week...still didn't finish it.
Ben is a damn power forward!!

Well, his physique would indicate that to be the position he should play. But in that brain of his, he thinks he is supposed to be the point guard when he is on the court.

You’re right? He is one. However, in todays league, you need to be able to shoot at all positions on the court and if you can’t you’re at a disadvantage

its crazy how ben has more minutes on cod then the court and hes hitting more three in cod 💀
I hate when people talk about this because ben doesn’t shoot with his dominant hand. no amount of practice, tweaking or training is gonna fix that unless he switches to his dominant hand.
Ben Simmons finessed the whole basketball world.
Lmao bro. You dedicate time to improving something, it will improve. That isn’t a secret.

How do I improve my shots like what drills can I do
As a Raptors fans, i saw Jonas Valanciunas go from not shooting threes to shooting threes in one off-season. Now in New Orleans, he's been a constant threat to shoot 3s as a stretch 5.
Horrible NBA shooting so far 😅😅
this aged like milk
As a '6er fan, this is NOT news. It's history
This is facts, I used to be a defensive slasher... Now I'm a deep 3 point threat which opens up more driving options

It's not that he didn't practice. It's always been about his confidence, which is key for shooting
@Tam0de

If you practice enough & put in the hard work, your confidence will grow as well. He doesn't have confidence because he knows he can't shoot the ball because he hasn't been working on his shot. Very simple.
