Yeah, this doesn't prove anything, like you said, it only has 20k miles. That's new car usage. I have more miles on my 2020 BMW 3 series. If you would've shown us one that was actually driven a lot since 2004, then signs of degradation would've obviously shown. Shit video, but like alwas Mat Watson scraping the barrel for content and engagement

My 05 S4, 15 Q5, and 15 Q7 all had ashtrays in the doors. I’m a smoker, but still think that’s quite unusual for anything made in the 2000’s. My favorite odd features are the pistol drawer under the front passenger seat, and the all door lock button in the back of the center arm rest in by old S4.

@@Olliebobalong I did, actually. Also, if we compare the build quality, then in order to be fair, we must not compare a used, old car with hundreds of thousands of kms with a factory new car. We must look at how good the quality of the old cars was back when they were new, and back then the quality was awesome. Reliabilitywise, it is even worse. Cars with engines such as the 1.9 TDI with a rotary pump etc. were almost indestructible. Then cars like the B6 Passat came and to this day, there were always some engine problems. Awful 1.6 FSI and 2.0 FSI, EA888 (1.8 TSI [TFSI] and 2.0 TSI [TFSI]) engines were a disaster that needed expensive repairs after just 60 000 kms (they’re better nowadays, but still very complicated), EA111 TSI never ending timing chain issues, 2.0 TDI-PD is just a bummer, 2.5 TDI, 5.0 TDI and 6.0 TDI are probably even worse, 1.4 TSI Twincharger will ruin you and the risky EA189 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI are no fun to own either (may have forgotten some other disastrous VW engines from the past 15 or so years). And these are just the engines. VW indeed went downhill in the last years.

I had a ride in an A class (2020) the other day and I was shocked by how cheap some of the plastics were. It certainly had more flair than my mark 7.5 Golf but it all felt rather cheap. The door pulls creaked and flexed and felt like those kids toys that looked a bit like fisher price but you know you'd bought the bargain version. Too much hard glossy black plastic too.
