Thank you for compiling all the info Yash. I am however doubtful about the point of borrowing funds just to show it. You mentioned that keeping it in the account for 3 WEEKS should do. But if someone is showing bank statement of last 4 MONTHS (I actually heard that 6 months' is recommended. Is that right?), seeing a sudden inflow of large sum just weeks before interview might give red flag to VO and invite further unexpected questions. Right?

If your wife sponsors then as she is already a student how would you prove that a student has the capacity to fund another student ......so definitely not recommended. For a businessman it is s bit longer documentation to show financial capability ....better take a loan ...this way it proves to VO that your financial stability has already been evaluated.

Now while in interview, when they ask who is sponsoring you, should I tell I have took a loan of $67k from NBFC, thats it....Or should i tell, I have took a loan of so and so, and my dad has savings of xyz Lakhs? As I20 is just 1 year expense, so do they require to check our funds for 2nd year? 2.
