Hi there. I'm from Brazil and it helps me a lot. Thanks and have a nice weekend.
*sigh * I do love the crisper sound of the t-version, but I'm also tired of being recognized as an ESL person. Out with the _t,_ then... And thanks for explaining that bit about the _nt._ 😊

The King's Daughter, you can keep the "T". If you are recognized as ESL, that is not the reason.
Amazing! Thank you! 🇧🇷

Very motivating.. I recommend you to share some more tips .. like this.. 👍
I love this. What about the word button? I've heard it pronounced buddon, buTTon, and the way i say it sounds like it omits the middle consonants entirely "buh-un."

Thank you

Oh, I must differ with you. The T may be softened - sometimes, but it it there. (Native speaker here.)

Thank you for your videos! Is there any difference between the American pronunciation of 'winter' and 'winner'? Thanks
@AccurateEnglish
Жыл бұрын
Those two words are generally pronounced the same.
How can’t you confuse winner and winter then???
what about "fantastic" please advise 🙏
Thank you so much. Got a question. How do we pronounce 'pant' ?
Can you also do "fantasy, mountain, accelerator, property [ies], categorically"?

Hi, thanks for your great video. I have a question, if we skip the "t" in "winter" when pronounce, how we distinguish it with "winner"?

I'm an American from Kansas, and I would probably pronounce the t in nearly all those words. I'm certain I wound never say Sana Clause.
Do TV newscasters read this way on TV news or school teachers teach this at schools in US?
@AccurateEnglish
Жыл бұрын
Teachers don't need to teach this to native speakers because accent is not taught to native speakers. Yes, this is standard American English. You will also hear newscasters speaking this way.
Please let me know that different between "my pleaser" and "my pleasure" when we use in which situations
what about 70?
Hello Lady, 1:37 you said:"...it conTains..."
In the word accent which have an "n" before t...the t is silent too?
open auction 😅
I've lived in the States all my life (West Coast and Midwest) and dropping the t sounds very unnatural to me in all but the word twenty. I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate.

I agree with you Rebekah. And "twenny" only if you are counting to one hundred as fast as you can!
What about "sentimental"?
I wish I could give "twenny" likes. 😅😂
I say about tree fiddy.

Greetings from Slovenia! "twenty" is a strong form, whereas "twenny" is a weak form.
What about the word “silent”, should I say Silen?
@AccurateEnglish
Жыл бұрын
Not when the T is at the end of the word.
There must be something wrong with me because I pronounce the T in all these words and I grew up speaking English in the US
Hello Miss, but " twenty " is academic than "twenny"
@AccurateEnglish
Жыл бұрын
It’s not necessarily more academic in American English. The T is usually skipped even in academic environments.

Kheira, I agree with you. "twneey" and "winner" are a sloppy or low american accent.
I’m asian and i have learned american english since i was kid. when i was in australia, sometimes i was mocked by australians because i said ‘twenny’ not ‘twenty’ anyway thanks for tips❣️
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Why don’t you pronounce 70 in the same way as sevenny then???
In*ernet, Inerna*ional. ☺️
How will native Americans pronounce the word "Unintentional" with dropping of "t" letter ...
Sry what😂
You are teaching people to pronounce in an uneducated fashion.

This pronunciation doesn’t sound uneducated. Many educated Americans speak this way.

Succinct comment, and absolutely correct. Just because a pronunciation might be prevalent doesn't make it somehow correct. I'm from U.K., and many get pronunciation things wrong, like "bofe" for both, or "bu'er" for butter. Winner is the person coming first; winter is the season before spring. Easy! Clarity!
