Really can't understand how the 1.4 k only managed a 8.95! I used to own a Metro gti with the same engine and it used to keep up with standard Renault 5 gt turbos. Used to do 0-60 in the early 8 secs, and the car weighed 150-200kg more than a mini.

I believe my 1275 carb mini did about 9 seconds wich is pretty damn fast already for such a car

2.8 to 60 mph was what my 800 Honda VFR would do. In 1st gear...

Why is the Zcars R1 so much faster than the Pro-Motive R1? Just because 13" rims and 25 bhp?

It might have something to do with the tuning of the engine or that the zcars one has 2 engines.....

Is that an Innocenti Mini? I also love DeTomaso Mini!

the 1.4 K should have been capable of a better time than that, even the metro gti does it quicker and its heavier. That is unless that mini used an 75bhp 8v or the 84ps restricted 16v 1.4 but then whod do that

I could wax lyrical at this point but I wont bud... never mind the marketing...btw I am a 37 year old person that has grown up around engineering (automotive) I have personally lapped valves in by hand. I have personally struggled with trying to balance carbs with a screwdriver.. I have personally tried to balance valve overlap with exhaust lengths and diameter. I have forgotten more about engines than you probably know son. do not get me started.. i can HEAR when it aint right... you need a pc lmfao

Actually I have fully rebuilt engines. Whether it's a head being fully reassembled in a 2002 Gmc Sonoma to a full engine rebuild on a 1997 Honda accord. I have also helped my dad build the heads for his 489 ci big block chevy in a 67 Camaro. All that remains on the Camaro is the wiring, interior work like carpet & seats and then exterior paint. All the jams and engine bay have been painted. I know about valve lash tools like valve tappet feeler gauges and I know about plastigauge for the bottom end among a lot of other various things. I know about setting timing. I don't doubt your knowledge in automotive so don't doubt mine. I'm just trying to fathom why you started an argument because I said the presenter was boring. If your reply has anything to do with the reason why you initially said something about the presenter being boring, I will reply. If it doesn't and it's just comparing who knows more about building a motor, then I won't. Have a good one.
