Promotion Tourist Naturalistic for Monterosso Almo
one of the most beautiful towns in Italy
In Norman times, this village was called Lupia (or Casal Lupino) for the presence of wolves; in Aragonese his name was probably Bishop Almo (Almo Monte) or Johalmo. From the Red Earl of Messina who refounded in 1338 he took the name of Mons Rubens, Monte Rosso.
At about mt. 700 s.l.m. within the chain of the mountains Iblei in the south-eastern part of Sicily, in the province of Ragusa, is Monterosso Almo, small town rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693. The hills and valleys offer plenty of typical landscapes in which you can access to pleasant picnic in a healthy and beneficial relationship with nature, authenticity and the air typical of the area of the environment.
