York City secured promotion back to the National League with a 2-0 win over Boston United in the National League North playoff final.
Goals from Lenell John-Lewis and Maziar Kouhyar were enough to secure promotion for John Askey’s side in front of a sell-out crowd at the LNER Community Stadium.

Goosebumps just watching this back. I genuinely love how I oftentimes couldn't make out what I was saying in commentary because the crowd were just incredible from start to finish! Even at the time, I could hardly hear myself.

Watching this the day Sir John got sacked, what a day and what a shift from the 6 months prior. Goosebumps reliving these moments. He worked absolute miracles to get us promoted that season, changing the entire culture of the club. Thank you John Askey, forever a city legend.

Would love to see the mighty YCFC up into league 2 again. Can’t get my head around the likes of Harrogate, Sutton etc. Lot of love for this famous old club for this beautiful city. All the best. From a Forest Fan.

Obviously gonna watch this at least 2000 times. But you've got to ask - how did the York commentator fail to learn how to pronounce our winger's name before the match? It's not like he's only just arrived. Embarrassing stuff!
