The equipment tour was what I was waiting for. When you consider how it was done in the past this machine is nothing short of a miracle. Do you ship raw cotton overseas to anyone? Good video. Pax.

No kidding and not to mention the fact that it stays running so smoothly. There are buyers that buy the cotton through the gin where it ends up after that I do not know

Thanks for explaining the difference between a stripper and a picker. Last time I was around a picker was my uncles. We put a tractor under it and had to switch the gears in the Trans around. ( late 70s early 80s) do you put dish soap in your water on your pickers? Thanks for sharing.

We used to run dawn but now they actually have specific spindle cleaner that we use

Does the stripped cotton grade the same as picked cotton?

Not quite as good grades no

It gets dark so much more quickly this time of the year it doesn't give much time for the cotton to dry out.

No it doesn’t not enough sunlight

How is cotton priced? Do you get paid by the pound before it is ginned or after? Do you get paid one price for the lint and another price for the seed and nothing for the trash I suppose? The stripper seems to do a much better job of harvesting the lint if you don't get docked too much for all the extra trash.
