God's Faithfulness in Promises:
2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV): "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'Yes' in Christ. And so through him the 'Amen' is spoken by us to the glory of God."
Numbers 23:19 (NIV): "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?"
Hebrews 10:23 (NIV): "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."
Examples of God's Promises:
Genesis 12:2-3 (NIV): "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Romans 8:28 (NIV): "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Conditions of God's Promises:
2 Peter 1:4 (NIV): "Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires."
James 1:12 (NIV): "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
Our Response to God's Promises:
Hebrews 10:36 (NIV): "You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised."
2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV): "Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God."
These verses demonstrate that God's promises are reliable, and they require faith, obedience, and perseverance on our part. When we trust in God's promises and align our lives with His will, we can confidently expect Him to fulfill His word in our lives.
