Prologue / Little Shop of Horrors - Original Broadway Cast - 09/21/2003 Preview Performance
Ойын-сауық
Here is the September 23, 2003 preview performance of the prologue and title song from the original Broadway production of "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Virginia Theatre in New York.
After the failed Florida try-out earlier in the year, the video of which is posted here ( • Video ), the show was totally scrapped and reproduced from the ground up, with a new director (Jerry Zaks), new choreography, new set-design, and a new cast. Virtually the only element to survive the move to Broadway was the casting of Hunter Foster (fresh off of the musical URINETOWN) in the role of Seymour Krelborn.
The cast features Trisha Jeffrey as Crystal, Carla J. Hargrove as Ronnette, DeQuina Moore as Chiffon, and Don Morrow as the pre-recorded voice of the narrator.

Superbly done. The only way to do justice to this song is to sing it like you're life depended on it.

djmixnmagic i feel that right now
Damn, they're singing their asses off!
The prologue was clearly highly inspired by the prologues and epilogues of Ed Wood's films.
DAYUM!!!! They wrang that song DRY!!!!!!
They were SAAAANNNGING!! I couldn’t help but let out a stunned “woooo” listening to them! Amazing! 👏🏾👏🏾💙
YASSSSSSSSSSSSS 🥰🥰 🥰🥰🥰 these gurls slayed TF out of that song!
Killed it!! Love this show
This is 9/23, not 9/21... But it would be REALLY cool if this were actually filmed on the 21st day of the month of September!!

Special_Effect Well, it said the 23rd of September in the movie version, so at least they had that going for them.

Most/all Broadway or off Broadway or even school plays say 21st, even though yes, the movie says 23rd

How do you know this is 9/23? Throughout the whole trading community this is always traded as 9/21

I thought the original musical production in 1982 it was the 21st. it was changed to the 23rd in the movie version.
To be honest... the "narrator" was just too much "stock-footage". (Or at least sounded too much like it... It just didn't sound "right"... My only other complaint is the interpretation of the song at the "everybody beware"-segment... don`t get we wrong, the actors wer great... but the missing ascending "be-wa...aaaa....aaa....aaare" was noticeable missing.

These people are so talented what are you talking about. They have to do this live everynight, compare that to the movie where everything was pre recorded and edited to sound good

Good for them, but I have also heard Tichina Arnold and Tisha Campbell-Martin sing live and there is a noticeable difference. There is a difference between singing a high note and screaming a high note JS
