The last part of this lecture relating the antinomies to the rise of existentialism is so amazing!

Dana, Kant lecture 4 is vital to understanding how Kant overcomes the Skepticism established by Hume. The key is to realize that Kant is collapsing the Modernist dualism between subject and object. Objects can be experienced as objects only through the structure of human consciousness, first, as in space and time (made possible by the faculty of sensibility), and second, as subject to universal laws of nature, which, themselves, are nothing but the concepts of the understanding. When we experience the world, for example, one event as the cause of another, we are, in a real sense, looking at the structure of our own minds.
