    Hello, 1. Bumper and Grill are seperately attached to car, you need to remove Bumper to remove the headlight unit, and it is must to remove it as there is no space to change the projector light directly. 2. You may get the dome dust cover from Amazon: www.amazon.in/gp/product/B084624MQM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    the one in the image in the video, is specifically designed so that you may cut it as per the required size that fits in any car. I had to cut the dome cover till the last rim to fit in Skoda Rapids Projector side, it would have been differnt rim for Hi beam side, its one dome cover which will fit on any car. To be specific, the projector side needs 65mm dome dust cover, you may get 65mm dome.

    @@vtgtsvlogs9152 Thanks I have Rapid Style 2018 and mechanic was able to fix LED in low beam (projector) without needing to tamper the dust cover, so domes were not needed . But he could not install LED in the High beam as the space inside is not sufficient to insert LED with a fan, was this the reason you chose to put Bulb in high beam instead? Also, with mixed lighting setup (Different colour temperatures) in your car now, are you comfortable driving on highways or considering high beam also getting replaced with LED?

    Happy to answer again, Fitting LED in Hi beam was not a big deal but i preferred to keep the halogens, as this also solves the issues of driving in Rain (yellow light difference) and also LED has very bright light and it scatters a lot if we put it in reflector type headlight, tough i have put LED in reflector type Fog lamps, but have made the old school jugad to minimize scattering by putting a black tape at top section of Fog lamp. Car looks different from crowd and has better light throw in city and Amazing on highways.

I also have a Rapid MC which has same setup as yours, If you see other videos on channel you will find more information on the setup that I have, to tell in short here, I have: 1. Philips Xtreme Vision Gforce 55 watt H7 halogen in Hi Beam reflector. 2. LED with approx 50 watt, 9000 lumex each light in Low beam projector. 3. Fogs are upgraded from 35watt H8 halos to Philips Xtreme Vision Gforce 55watt H11 halogen. See other videos on channel to see the upgrade of Fogs and adjusting lights to see the actual effect of headlights. Hope this helps.

    I will suggest to update the fog lamp bulbs also, put H11 55watt Halogen in place of H8 35watt halos. About Projector upgrade: Putting Philips Xtreme vision Halogen will marginally improve the visibility. Putting HID has lots of heat issues, it will spoile the projector in some time by melting the inner components. Putting LEDs with more than 15000 Lm lights throw is best to fit, it does not need separate wiring or relay, just need the Adaptors are need as shown in my other video.

    Thanks for sharing. I've been watching your videos regarding Philips Xtreme vision g-force and got those for my rapid style. I have a couple of questions: 1. Isn't HID a better option for projector headlamps instead of an LED light? 2. How much better do you feel the low beam is now in comparison with Philips halogens?

  • @vtgtsvlogs9152

    @vtgtsvlogs9152

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello Ketan ji, 1. Yes, HIDs are better choice but the amount of heat they generate certainly spoil the Project with time, If you want you should fit not more than 35 watt HID. I wanted to fit in LEDs as those are much brighter and has better life and it was challenge to fit LEDs in Rapids Projector. 2. Low beam is many time brighter as compared to Halogens and with set of proper aligned Fog lamps with H11 (55 watt) bulbs, it is AWESOME.

With Minimum investment, i would suggest to upgrade the bulb in the main headlight unit, upgrade it from company fitted H4 halogen to Philips Xtreme vision or Osram laser vision H4 halogen bulbs, it should not cost around INR 2K for two lights. If you can, add fog lamps, and put H8 bulb in it (Refer my other video on fog lamp upgrade). Hope this helps.

    Thank you for appriciating the work, its created to help the Skoda community. Adding DRL is a totally different work, it need the headlight assembly removed, opened and then DRL would be added, it can be costly affair. As my car is top of the trim (Rapid MonteCarlo), it came with DRL already fitted in. Also the halogen bulbs I suggested in my previous reply are not blue in shade, those are brighter than stock bulbs, for blue lights you need to change the bulbs to philips crystal vision or Diamond vision bulbs.

I have put LEDs in Reflector type Fog lamps but have used the old way of putting black stripe at the top section of the reflector glass.. but that is not possible on main head light unit as it is at height and putting a black strip on it will not look good.. If you have made your mind to do this upgrade then make it a practice to not to put on lights when engine is off. Put the headlights on only when Engine is ON, do not keep you car in Auto Headlight setting as it puts on the light as soon as you put the key in car, that drains the battery. I also have put LEDs in Low beam and Fog lamps, LED in low beam projector has no issues as light is well directed. but in reflector type fogs the light scatters a lot, so i have put a black tape at the Top section of fog lamp (as it was done in old days) to prevent light getting into eyes of incoming traffic.. Sorry for late reply, you may upgrade the existing halogen bulbs with Philips Xtreme vision plus, halogen bulbs, plug and play option for better visibility at night. LEDs are not preferable in reflector type headlight unit as light from LEDs scatter a lot and do not provide desired results.

    I will not suggest to put LED in Hi Beam, as the light distorts a lot and will certainly blind the incoming traffic. Keep the halogen in Hi Beam and upgrade the Fog light to 55 watt and align it as shown in my other videos, that will resolve the issue.

When you say LED Size not fitting, is it that it is not getting accommodated in the head light assembly or something else?
