Mammoet receives SC&RA Rigging Job of the Year Award 2021 in the $750,000-$2 million (US) category.
Our team presented the successful completion of the transport and lift of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport’s newest expansion, an elevated pedestrian walkway for the future international arrivals facility.
Part of the airport’s $968 million expansion, the new bridge is only the second walkway in the world with suitable clearance for a Boeing 747 to taxi beneath. Once transported into position under the existing V-piers, erection crews used four 900-ton steel frames that utilized a strand jack system.
This was the first time these frames from the Netherlands had been used in the United States. With approximately 1.5 inches of tolerance for a precise fit, the bridge span was carefully hoisted into its final position, 22m (72 ft.) from the ground, before being welded into place.

Thank you for creating this! I think this video format is about ideal; just the right length and amount of detail.

Glad you liked it!
Another incredible job by Mammoet! Work at an airport is much more demanding due to the potential for Foreign Object Damage, when something gets sucked up by a jet engine. A nut, screwdriver, or some other small piece of equipment can destroy an engine.
Impressive engineering and teamwork. Good video length. Thank you.
THE VERY BEST OF HEAVY LIFTING

Thank you for your kind words!
I also working at heavy lift transport company, and this channel is my inspiration.. Nice work Mammoet!
I wouldn't mind seeing a longer version.
Proud of you Matt! Great project overview, but I know there’s no way you can boil down all that went into this project in a short video. Know you worked hard on this one!

Matt! Right on!
A test for this lift was done in Hong Kong but the first lift involving a skybridge was Denver which opened in 95.
Using a little bit larger text showing it some longer time is a wish. Anyway, well presented engineering.
Too bad u didn't have video of that, but the cartoon was nice.
So clearance for a jet that’s being retired ? Aren’t most 747’s still flying freighters ?
