Really great point on how Zomboid mixes high-intensity zombie fighting terror with stuff like re-arranging furniture for an hour. I find it to be roguelike too, especially since there are all these deep mechanics that you need to master in order to survive. And because a 'level 1' character can die so easily, but a character who's survived for months can kill hundreds of zombies pretty easily.

You know at 1:47 - 1:51 segment can be so out of context for people who have never tried the older version and I can't stop laughing at newer players watching this.

One of the worst bits of fear I felt for a new character was in my latest game. I tried to get a hand axe out of a zombie, and thanks to a fumble ended up with a laceration on my character's neck. That was so early in the game that I didn't even have ripped sheets or any loot. Had to use the socks of my character to quickly bandage up the wound, and then start the early-game setup while not even knowing whether I'd even make it past the first few days. I ended up with a functioning car and a secured base, and then finally noticed that the injury had healed completely. As the cherry on top, the character I play is prone to injury and thin-skinned, so the chance of infection was even higher.

Wonderfully made video, I personally think your voice is really well suited for this type of content, you also have good writing and scripting skills, which in turn make the video engaging, interesting, and keep a guy with a short attention span watching. Keep up the good content.

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is a more in depth Project Zomboid. Idk if you looked into it but you should if you like PZ.

Somehow I've never played it but I've had it on my radar for years now.

Great video! If you haven't seen yet, they are apparently reworking the UI but they said it will take quite a while. I think it was one of the more recent update posts that talked about it. I really hope more of my friends pick up this game, it's great and fun :D

i got bored of a ton of mods so what i did was i turned off a ton of my usual mods and decided to make a different kind of challenge by turning off zombies as well as 99.99% of all loot and foraging and fishing

@@HazzorPlaysGames honestly it was just refreshing to get the games challenge from another source, as in the version of the game i made you cannot survive self sustainably until you have a large farm

One of my favorite games despite being terrible at it. Agree with all your points for sure and am in a similar boat where i've played it some throughout all of its phases. Looking forward to when the developers decide to say the game is finished!

@@HazzorPlaysGames hard to say, though 10+ years is an awfully long time. Even with that fire that made them need to re-do a lot of work. I'm excited to see where it goes, I just hope it'll get significant progress.

What that other guy said, Jaap wrungel, you have to find and install the upgrade parts, theres also an armoured bus and a mustang, very good stuff.

Im not sure but they did add controller support a while ago so it's obviously not out of the question.

graphic dont make a game better ... thats biggest problem in many new games .

@@Dynioglowy1986 actually they can, you just need the graphics to fit the rest of the game, i think with project zomboid keeping it more simple in artstyle is a good choice. Graphics dont make up a entire game but saying that graphics add 0 value to a game is a terrible way to look at game design.

Nice intentions in the video, but you spent the entire video talking about how and why you like the game and how to play it, rather than explaining what you said in the title. Nice and bad in certain ways.
