This is awesome! I’d love to do that. I want to do an all mechanical powertrain no electronics. With highway gearing and a two speed txfr case with highway gearing and a stout low end, engine break etc. it’ll have to wait for now.

Awesome build! Now I’m looking at fun things to shove a 12 valve into 😂

16:00 I’m glad to hear you’re going make the clutch pedal assembly available! I can’t begin to describe the struggles I had trying to acquire the correct bracket for the 1996-1999 trucks. I found the original part number (now discontinued part) and did a nation wide stock check through a dealership …. Not a single one of them left. I found a couple pre 1996 in junk yards, but never the correct one for my 1998. Finally found one an individual had through a swap group. They’re like hens teeth, it seems, just can’t find them any more.

Really nice work on the conversation. I been working on my old second gen dodge ram. A auto to g56 conversion and a 4x4 ..That was a deal make the floor mounted 4x4 shifter up grade by welding in a later model floor . Reason I posting is after dealing with the factory cruise control I decided to go with aftermarket. For a few reasons . The unit I found is the make you shown here . Any advice would be appreciated. Your floor shifter looks very similar to what I have in my truck . A floor shifter out of a 98 4x4 . I also going to install a exhaust brake. I really like a manual transmission. I installed a one piece aluminum drive shaft

Nice work! So with the 4x4 actuator delete where could I find that kit or bolt you used?

I'm doing a very similar build. Mine is a 1999 3500 crew cab shortwide dually. Have gotten all my parts from Joel and everything has bolted on like it came from the factory with the 12v in it (fantastic). Maybe I missed it but my question is what intercooler was used. The blue suburban wasn't intercooled so thats kinda where I was headed with mine. But now after seeing this series with the cooler I think I want to go that direction. Would love to see some more on how you did it as well. If there are any pics or info that is. Lol

Thanks Troy! Appreciate that. We just use aftermarket intercoolers and fabricate pipes to make it work. It's A LOT of work.

I installed a 98 12 valve into my 98 chev Crew cab long box. I used the original dodge intercooler. With a bit of cutting and messaging it fits right in the centre of the rad support. I used the original dodge intercooler pipes (I think they are both from the same side on the dodge). The only issue I had with the original intercooler was trying to make the headlights fit. So I cut and welded a bit out of the side tanks. Also cut some of the headlight out. But earlier years have the smaller headlight I dunno if it works or not. I used original dodge rad. The only thing I had to get for the basic conversion that wasn’t from either of the donor trucks was the engine mounts. Also just use the starter solenoid for your fuel shut off pull in. As per original dodge. Great build tho!! Way nicer then mine lol

@@codyyellott117 I'm the owner, not worried about a blowout, it's pretty solid and even on a flat rim it would clear.
