The fact that he went through all this worry and loneliness as a kid only to grow up and just kinda.... push it all the way to the back of his mind where he could never see it again. He has this habit of 'forgetting' all of his saddest memories, and this event clearly shows that habit negatively affecting how he acts even in the present. The way he gets better at playing that piece the older he gets, waiting for Saki to get better.... Really, thank god Saki got better, or who knows WHAT could've happened to Tsukasa's mental state.

Now that I think about it, everyone will get over their problems someday but not Tsukasa. He will still live in fear that his sister might get sick again. And him constantly seeking for attention is also a result of the loneliness he went through in the past Sega, why must you make Tsukasa suffers so much ;-;

omg why are you so right... I think that it's only going to get downhill from this moment on. Tsukasa might've found peace for one event, but like not for the whole life. And at some point, Saki *will* d/e. If she's chronically sick, she'll probably d/e before her brother and friends anyway (maybe not in her 20s or even 30s, but still I have a hunch that Tsukasa's going to outlive her). Imagine how crushed he'd be, damn 💀💀💀💀 SEGA are monsters for making the funniest guy in this game suffer this much,,,

i feel like tsukasa's past is looked over a lot, in the sense that the reason he has a "weird" personality most likely stemmed from his desire to entertain saki when she was hospitalized; like all the shows he did for saki slowly influenced his personality into becoming similar to the characters he acted out. like i'm not a psychologist or anything but that's how i see it, because when he was a child he wasn't as prideful as he is in the present, none of the "HA HA HA HA!!!" stuff. also i feel the reason he isn't as affected by the opinions of other people around him like rui and nene, is because he prioritizes his sister's happiness over anything else. so even if he was the "weird kid at school," he didn't care, because as long as his weirdness made saki happy, it was fine. there's also his fear of bugs and the luxurious bento he brings to school. i think he's scared of bugs because they carry germs and occasionally diseases, add that with the fact that he's always excessively making sure saki doesn't get sick again, he might be scared of him being the one to send her back into a hospitalized state... with the bento, it's mentioned that there's always nutritious food inside, including vegetables. he also has a crazy routine where he even has to bring a handkerchief and sanitizing wipes to school... it may be a part of his eccentric personality but i also think it's because he subconciously scared of making saki sick again. saki even mentions he's the best big brother because he does things for her that other big brothers wouldn't (having earmuffs ready for her when it's cold out, etc.) though tsukasa's reaction to this information seems to be confusion, as well as saying that it was any older brother's duty... not to mention his dream literally came from seeing saki so happy when she saw a show when they were younger... anyways, just feel like saki's bad health from childhood traumatized him badly to the point he started picking up a bunch of habits

As someone who has had not my sister, but my mother, have multiple passages through the hospital over the years: it’s really painful. It traumatizes you. Almost everyday I try looking after her, in fear that she might suddenly fall ill again… it’s refreshing to see this sort of situation portrayed, in Project Sekai of all places.

It has been months, but I just want to say that I find it interesting that both Mafuyu's mother as well as Tsukasa's mother have this similar way of speaking to their children that just sort of... praises them for acting how they want them to act and not how the actually are. While I'm sure it's unintentional on Tsukasa's mother's part, I can definitely imagine that Tsukasa put on a brave face to not worry his parents and that his current persona is the result of it, much like Mafuyu

It's just that Tsukasa's mom probably doesn't understand what's wrong with her saying, "you're such a good older brother", while Mafuyu's mom knows damn well that's she manipulating the hell out of her daughter by telling her that she's a "good girl". the parallels, OOF

Gods the writing in Project Sekai is so good, it portrays Tsukasa's situation in a really nuanced way. A kid growing up always worried about his little sister getting sick, who is so focused on her that he himself kinda neglects making friends, so he ends up completely tying his own happiness to his sister... Tying your happiness to another person's is already not really stable, but especially tying it to someone like Saki, where her health could give out at any time and render both of them super sad and hopeless. These cutscenes kinda make you focus almost completely on Tsukasa's worry for Saki, but even with that they portray the emotion that i feel is really at the core of everyone in WxS: loneliness. Tsukasa is always the one left behind, the one waiting for Saki and his parents to come home, who's only friend back then was Toya, but really Toya was more of "a person to cheer up" than a friend he could confine in, so for all his childhood he was really just Alone so much of the time..! It hurts.

Tsukasa the typa dude to enter the room before his sister and give her a grand entrance by saying "EVERYONE GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THE GREATEST PERSON IN THE WORLD" as she walks in.

about that part in the middle where tsukasa’s mom calls and says she’s going to be late…i believe an alternate translation of the line goes something like “i’m fine, i’m a star! i can’t be lonely, saki’s the one who’s lonely!” and that. it hurts my heart T_T

Ok... I know this story is sad but... THEORY TIME ABOUT THE SEKAIS CREATION I remember that Tsukasa and Mafuyu are the only ones to be the sole creator of an entire SEKAI. And now that I look at this, both of them have very kinda dark past, and did forgot a lot of things (completely differents to the rest of the groups, specially N25 that also have a very dark past in some cases). SEKAIS, if you remember, are created with the sole purpose of discover the creator's true feelings, and thosefeelings create a song (and not confirmed, but it may create another SEKAI, according to VBS Miku in one of the stories). Supposedly creating a SEKAI is extremelly difficult, since it need to gather the true feelings of some people, even if they are hiding it (like Leo/Need and MMJ about their dreams) or they have the potential but don't know it yet (VBS, Kohane and Toya were the best partner for An and Akito, and they end up making the dream of surpassing Rad Weekend as their own true dreams, too). But what about Tsukasa and Mafuyu? Unlike them, the rest of the group did have normal and relatively happy lifes at some degree (this includes Saki, that despite being in the hospital a lot of times, she never went down thanks to Tsukasa, and the same can be said with Toya, while the rest of N25 had a little happiness before going to shit like Kanada and Ena, or had some kind of comfort like Mizuki with Rui), but this is not the case with this two. So... I think this kinda tease the idea that one sole person can create an entire SEKAI, only if they went through a lot of pain, with little to no happiness, a lot of concern and sad moments, to the point they prefer to just hide it, etc. Remember this, SEKAI are created to help it's creators, be it for their dreams, or for their reason to live. Even Tsukasa forgot a lot of things during his travel in the SEKAI, only remembering them after his fight with the WxS cast, while Mafuyu forgot who she was, and her SEKAI should eventually bloom into something should she find herself again.

God this part is just...so messed up ;;-;; it just hurts to see Tsukasa wanting to teach Saki how to play a song on the piano, and seeing Saki's condition worsen. Tsukasa suffering from loneliness because his sister was always in the hospital and even had to go to one far away, and him trying to find solace in playing the piano. Man...he just makes me so ;;;-;;;

3:49 hurts so much, Tsukasa's trying to stay positive since no one's there to cheer him up, but even then Tsukasa can't keep himself smiling forever :( he always does his best to keep everyone's spirits up and keep a positive atmosphere, but when he needs someone to comfort him, he feels like there isn't anyone there to do that for him...

it's interesting that tsukasa could've easily ended up resenting saki for taking away his parents attention, but it never even crossed his mind to feel that way, as he was too worried about her

Holy cow, I forgot that I need Tsukasa's focused event, especially after that one scene in the last valentine event. Damn, I really want this and never expected it to be like this. You could really see his ambition to become a star never really appeared before he's a middle schooler. He really went that far to cheer up Saki, resulting him to forget his original intention.

Not gonna watch cuz I don’t want to spoil, especially for awesome Tsukasa stuff…but I know it’ll be very sad considering how sad they have to be. Thetrauma for Saki and Tsukasa that comes from sickness at a young age is massive. They’re both two of the happiest kids in the game, and some of their positivity is entirely toxic and a result of trauma. So this backstory will be great.

I just realized. Most characters have a chance of getting past their trauma or issues but Tsukasa will never get to be one of them. He'll constantly have to worry about his sister getting sick, and there's really no escape from it. Sega why???????

Not my sister, but my mom was frequently bedridden when i was growing up. I love her with all my heart and she does too, but it doesn't make it hurt less feeling like you're all alone. Even if i had my siblings they were always kind of distant from me. It just makes this story hurt even more for me

Poor Tsukasa. It seems like he was unintentionally neglected and and wants to be a star to keep everyone happy and healthy like Saki, but also because he can’t stand feeling like he did back then.

Holy shit I didn’t expect this to go from wholesome to really sad this quick :(

Situations like this are really hard, a lot of people like to tell the non sick person to not be sad for the sick one's sake, they end up bottling up so many sad emotions that it brings, poor Tsukasa had to deal with it so youg it must have affected him even worse 🥺

Im so regret hating this dude as first for being so noisy, but it turned out that he went thru so much. Thank you for opening my eyes with these subs! I feel sad for both Tsukasa and Saki. He could have easily become Mafuyu 2.0 giving his situation

The way he switches sad to happy in an instant is scary like dude you’re 7 you shouldn’t even know how to stop crying at every little thing at that age

Soo... I'm still quite young.... But I don't know when it started, i think when my sister is in Primary four, she started having depression and it gets worst, one time when she was at P.5 she got really stressed when studying final exams with mother and cry really loudly like the whole street hear her(she wanted to jump from ). At that time I just realized she was very stressed all the time. And now she is in Secondary (first year) since i am younger that her one year i still haven't experienced secondary i dont know what happens to her every day, that makes my mother( she a nurse, and she always get stressed by working too much) and I even more stressed. Just because of that, i thought of making them happy and smile. I forgot to mention, the worst is one time when my sis is in shower, i wanted to borrow a pen from her, so i get her pencil case, then i saw a paper , i got curious and look at it, but that paper got me shook(shock lol) that paper is a death message.... (She not ded but i think she wanted to suicide). That why i am very worried. HUG MEE TSUKASA U DERSERVE A HUGG TUT poor boy

This reminds me of myself in a way. When I was 3, I was diagnosed with stage 4 (I think-) cancer in my nerve cells. I don’t remember much at all except for the first time I managed to walk again, and a couple of the hallways. My brother at the time would’ve been about 7, and only my dad was ever home. My mum was with me looking after me at the hospital, and my dad wasn’t home sometimes too because of work. I somehow don’t actually know my brother very well, even though we live with each other always, so I don’t really know how he felt but it definitely wasn’t happy. If you were to ask me I wouldn’t say I was affected by it, since I still have close friends from back then and I’m living life what I would say is normally, but I am disabled (not in a wheelchair or anything tho) so- :’D

Oh my god, I'm so sorry this happened to you!! it's good that you still had friends, but I hope you'll be able to get to know your brother more (of course, if you want to). I also hope that you'll get cured (if your disease is curable of course!!), but even if it isn't, it's okay. I'm not really disabled myself, but I have several chronic illnesses, so I kind of understand how it might feel like. Being disabled doesn't mean you can't live your life just any other person. I hope you're doing ok, I wish all the best for you
