Its really astonishing and sad at the same time. Closest thing we have to it is Arma I guess, but its so user-unfriendly. I actually prefer DCS with combined arms over any other game, then I at least know its worth learning tons of stuff. Theres nothing like PR out there and its a real shame.

@@ASDASD34RDFS pr has 5x the content, Squad has no planes, no attack helicopters no nothing. It gets boring playing USA vs RUSSIA, In PR you could play for a whole day and never be the same faction.

This is easily one of the best gaming highlight vids I've ever seen. The communication, the precision, the camera work. Phenomenal!

That's some very effective use of the A-10. This was really awesome to watch, loved the BR footage to actually see the impact/result. A lot of work, but certainly pays off. All in all well done! 👍🏻

Brilliant video. Love how you cut to showing the ground shot. Played PR since 0.3 and always wanted to get good at jets but never managed it. Not played in a few years now but getting the itch again.

Thanks! You should jump back in. I never flew jets for a long time (played since like .95) but it's really fun to add variety to your rounds. Would be happy to help you learn to fly a bit if you'd like.

I fly with joystick, still use mumble comms if I'm squad lead using my keyboard numpad and the mouse to manipulate the map if I need to buy all the actual jet flying is joystick.

@@phantomprojectreality7780 Thanks for the advice so far and your offer to help me get off the ground again Phantom. I've reinstalled PR and re-read the manual cover-to-cover. I think I'll get familiar with the overall game again before digging out my joystick and at that point I'll come back and get in touch! I'm Heskey in-game, formerly of Foxtrot/PRTA and [T&T] before that. In the meanwhile I'm watching all the CAS footage I can find on YT 😁 I think Dutch Forces had just been released last time I played. New changes to me I've seen from the manual are things like Medic Drag, increased vehicle occupancy (that's crazy, chinook can carry half a team?!), firing combat system icons, GTLDs no longer having 'stick'-lazes. Clearly been a while!

No idea how to plane, joined CAS, dude asked if I wanted to be his gunner, accepted, didn't know how to use it, dropped 1 bomb way off target got shot down, left so fast because he was yelling at me.

Phantom what's your thoughts about the balancing of CAS on this map? Since Taliban have no CAS and the A10 has a shitton of ammo and no AAV to worry about, is it overpowered? Should A-10 get added to more insurgency maps?

I think it is fine as is if tilted in favor of Taliban if anything. This is the AAS ALT layout which has 2 Ural quad trucks and Taliban should get 2 MANPAD AA kits. On top of this they can camp/IED the spawn point before the A10 even spawns so you basically have to secure the airfield the whole round to even use the A10. Also the runway is terrible so 50% of the time people will crash on take off or landing.

it's not supposed to be balance and you're supposed to play the taliban like any other asymmetrical force in real life, ingenuity. it's more fun too since the expectation of defeat as insurgent groups is pretty much high that players just do some random shit in attempt to win

now imagine if pr had more visual range, only thing that has kept me out of cas, even on helis, has been the low visual range the engine supports

Just a tip those bombs are also laser guided no need to divebomb like a ww2 plane. Just wait until you hear "I got a lock on him" or something and release bomb super effective.

I wouldn't say this video is a great one to use for tips on avoiding AA as I often flew in and out without using flares. My recommendation is first to fly out of view distance of the ground unless you are about to attack a ground target. If you do go for a dive on a ground target, make sure you are popping flares as you come into view distance of the ground, even if you aren't locked. If you get locked go as fast as possible away from the suspected AA while popping flares at a faster rate. This has worked somewhat for me in the past but others might have more/better tips.

@@ttpechon2535 it's been a while since I've set it up but I recall just having it plugged in before launching PR and then binding keys to the alternate buttons in the controls menu worked fine. My joystick is just 1 USB plug in. I used some Joy2key settings for a couple specific keybinds as well. You can hit me up on discord if you're still having issues (Daniel#9807)

When flying jets I mostly just use a joystick. I have the keyboard and mouse nearby if I am squad leader I'll use the numpad to do squad leader chat. Mouse sometimes to do stuff with the map.
