I wouldn't really consider Kindred a puppet character tho. That would be Azir, or maybe I could see even Zed being a hybrid, heavy rush down, heavy mix-up, puppet-ish character, with all his shadow clones

@@pudding1337 I mean, looks pretty faithful to the source material to me, from what we've seen thus far. Sure they don't have to be like 1 on 1, spot on, but they would still have to make the characters feel true to themselves. It's as if they gave Jinx the possibility to do roundhouse kicks, it wouldn't make sense for who she is at her core, and in fact, from what we've seen, her fighting style is very scrappy, she mostly shoots her guns and just punches you with 'em when she's up close, which makes a whole lotta sense. That said, I don't believe Kindred would function like a puppet character, more like a duo character, like Giovanna from Guilty Gear

Kindre should be mix of Puppet and Zoner as Lamb a shortbow. They'll probably be the lowest health champion. I may give her a try as this game has no inputs so it's less stuff to learn for a puppet fighter

I seriously hope Aatrox gets added. Yasuo and Sett will have to do for now lol. Also I'm surprised Lee Sin didn't get added considering he is a Monk. Udyr for that matter I could see being a great grappler. Edit: Someone mentioned Swain in the comments, that would be so sick too.

I wanna see Fiddlesticks. Maybe it'd move like Arakune (Blazblue) or Double (Skullgirls). I wanna see more designs outside of humanoids, and Fiddlesticks could work really well considering the real body is just the black sludge and the metal frame is just jagged metal that can be pointed in any way possible

I'm surprised pantheon isn't on the list. I can see several combos that revolve around extending his spear forward and pulling you in to bash you against his shield to lead into a combo that uses his Q to thrust you back. Some ideas to be had here.

They could be saving all darkin so they can make a event named "darkin ascention" or something like that. Legends of Runeterra didn't have any darkin, and then added Kayn and Varus at the same time which makes a pretty good excuse to have an event named after then [which also center atentions on the theme].

@@silas5086 you forget this is a fighting game. Fighting games release 1 character at a time, so there wouldn't be a point for "events" except announcing characters at tournaments.

Aatrox, Fiddlesticks, Cho'gath, and Volibear would be awesome fighter champs. I also think Fizz and Kled would fit well in this game with cool combos. Gwen and Vex could have really cool VFX!

So glad this was in the top few comments. Definitely my top pick. So incredible thematically and would be such an interesting character archetype!

Jax is definitely my top want, with Camille close behind. Jax having a mechanic where his normals come out faster as he keeps up pressure could be really cool, as well as Le Defensive Stance meme as a spot dodge to punish reactable moves. Camille could have a Vega/Claw style where she can jump around the sides of the screen with her hookshots for mixups, and the way her Q works already kinda feels like it invokes a combo in a fighting game.

This is actually an incredible starting roster for launch, they already have most of my mains in except for Lucian and Diana (hopefully both will be added in future updates)

I might be on the fence with this one, but I really hope Kayn makes an appearance in this. Not sure how they could do the Darkin/Shadow Assassin transform, but Scythe characters all always sick in fighting games.

I was HOPING for Samira in this game. Im super excited for this game. Its what I was mostly looking forward to when they announced the many games back in like 2020

I really want to see Viego in the game. He would obviously be a footsies type character with his sword, but also maybe be a vortex character like smoke in mkx with his mist. Maybe have a shang tsung/shinok type of shapeshift/imposter type move.

Annie or Shaco fits so well with the Puppet Archetype in fighting games. Possibly Vex with her Shadow too! It's kinda amazing how most League champs translate to fighting games.

After all he is too active himself to be a puppet master. More like trickster trapper. Annie feels more like summoner type tho. Btw. Now that I think about it, we don't really have puppet master? Yorick somewhat might fit the bill, but idk

Like-wise, Yasuo fits quite well. While Riven might be combo-heavy (like MvC or SF), Yasuo feels more methodical (kinda like Soul Calibur).

I had forgotten about this video and coming back to it now after seeing project L gameplay at EVO makes me all the more excited for this game

Bro Vladimir would be such a cool carmine like setplay character. Using his health as a resource to bombard the opponent with blood based attacks. Vlad also has knife-like claws on his fingers that he can use like Freddy Krueger.

Udyr can also fit in Project L since he has stances after all. Perfect champion for a fighting game

Jhin could be an interesting take on a zoning character, he could have limited but powerful ranged attacks that can lead to incredible combos if mastered and if you miss then you'll be heavily punished because you wont have a lot of bullets left to attack. Also since Rengar is here maybe we will have kha'zix since their rivalry is pretty much their entire lore.

Jhin is one where we’re aware he can do things other than shoot his gun even if it’s not in his league moveset, which makes a fighting game moveset more doable. Stuff like Ezreal Karma Lux Senna are bad additions since we literally have not ever seen them do anything other than their ranged moves So yeah, hope you’re right

Would love to see Xayah & Rakan in the roster. They could either be one character with Xayah yelling for Rakan to come assist her or 2 seperate champions where Xayah is trying to string combos with her feather placements and Rakan plays more like the Flash, using his speed and quickness to overwhelm foes.

Was not expecting Karma, nice surprise! I wish for some iconic enchanters to get added like Janna or Nami, would be really cool to see then manipulating wind and water respectively in a fighting game. I can see Janna as a very agile character who controls space with tornadoes and Zephyr and can stay in air for longer time but is frail and Nami as a kind o zonner with tools to setup combos for allies to switch in, with her bubbles and big waves.

I was really hoping for a more fitting yordle than teemo. I knew they would go with teemo, but I just feel like poppy or rumble would be more cooler to see in a fighting game. I mean rumble especially. Mech characters are always cool in fighting games.

@@vooshPOW poppy would be pretty cool. Lots of heavy hitting with the hammer, and I feel like it would be cool visually with a small fighter using a weapon just as big as herself. Would be interesting to see how they could use her w, maybe as a parry or cleanse?

Kindred would be a really interesting puppet character, Lamb would be there for zoning opportunities and Wolf for rushdown combos. Nunu and Wallump would probably be the Ferah-Tor of this game.

OMG...I will main The Kindred for sure...wasn't expecting them here at all...XD

Jhin, Shen and Zed all need to be added. The dialog alone would be worth it.

Damn id love to see qiyana. Really cool weapon and design. Element change could also be a very fun mechanic. You could make her change stances with elements, cast a skill based on the current element(kinda like nine from blazblue), give her different on hit or projectile effects like valentine from skullgirls. You could get the elements using certain moves, drive super or motion inputs kinda like shulk in smash or jack-o’s minion inputs from guilty gear.

i am so happy about kindred, the second i heard a fighting game for the runeterra universe my first thought was "puppeteer kindred"

As someone from FGC i can't wait to see Sylas, Volibear and Udyr in action. From the leaked roster only samira seems like a stance based fighter and that particular archetype is always very interesting with high low mixup possibilities. Sylas could be added as a poking long range keep-away with Volibear mixing a brawler and grapler gamestyle and Udyr making the second stance based champion. Also 23 characters at launch seem really generous comparing to DNF Duel with 16 and Guilty Gear Strive 15

Naw no way should Sylas be a zoner, even though he fights with chains he uses them as short range weapons to subdue his enemies both physically and by draining their magic. Making him a zoner would be a disservice to his canonical fighting style as well as his character.

Pyke would go hard here imagine how cool the execute could be if they implement it well

I do feel like there are too many ADC champs in the game so far. I get that they're popular but I don't like how many melee characters are already being overlooked. Still it might be alright since we'll probably have lots of events with new additions. Still sooooo excited for this game.

I kinda want ivern to be in this just to see how creative riot gets with his pacifist style in an actual fighting game

If they didn't have Riven I would be shook. She was literally inspired by fighting games at her inception, and is one of the most fighting-game-esque champions in league!

I have to main Riven, not because I main her in league, but She is the reason I got into league. I knew of league, but didn't play it till Riven's release. The draw was she was designed with fighting games in mind and I'm a big fan of fighting games. She was also voiced by one of my favorite VAs so I had to try her. Since I had to learn the game first I never actually start playing her till about 7 years after her release because I fell into different roles then hers. It's time to come full circle and main her in Project L.

Camille should honestly be in the roster. She's perfect together with most bruisers too like jax, aatrox, etc

You might wann look up the Murakumo Units of the FG Series "Blazblue" since they function pretty similar and they are extremely cool characters :)

As a kindred main i will play this alot and sett and riven and Vi and samira

Now that I think about it, putting Master Yi in would be brutal, I know he only hits but doing it with those characters that don't do much damage to you but their ease of making combos makes up for it, doing now with "MECHANICS".

Riven fits a lot. Riven is inspired by Marth from Smash (LOOK I KNOW HE'S FROM FIRE EMBLEM BUT SHE'S INSPIRED BY THE DUCKING SMASH BROS VERSION OF MARTH (the triple Q is a reference to his side B and she was coded as “Marth” in her first stages of development) so seeing her in a fighting game after she was herself based from a fighting game character is funny.

Funnily enough i think orianna would make a great character, her robotic desing has a lot of room for a moveset and the ball mechanic could be interesting.

Thinking about all of these Champions beeing confirmed to be there at the start is really exciting. Riot has 10/10 developers. Im so curious how different and awesome Teemo, Zed etc. will feel to play.

You just know Zed's gonna have a nasty mixup game. Jumping and sending out a shadow behind the opponent that mirrors his movement and he can choose whether or not to swap places with it for a gnarly 50/50 on approach.

I'm thinking Orianna fits in a fighting game. She can use her ball as her primary weapon. Manipulating the ball's positioning works like a zoning tool. Also, her unique fighting style can be "battle dancing"...you know, because she wanted to be a ballerina plus her robotic movements is something I would like to see in a fighting game.

I think shyvana would be a natutal at this as she already uses fist weapons, but riot just kinda keeps her on the bench for everything

Honestly very surprised that all the female bruiser champs were not added in the starting roster. Fiora, Camille, Riven, and Irelia seem like obvious choices for a 1v1 fighting game as mobile rush down. characters.

Actually an interesting list though, other than not having Zed's foil with Shen. But some I'd really like to see would be Jhin (but maybe too similar to Teemo with zoning and traps....), LeBlanc for that crazy trickster style, Evelynn for the hot demon lady who can turn invisible and combo all over you like hot Reptile or something, and Warwick cuz werewolf boi is best boi.

Katarina is confirmed, we saw her in one of the earlier tease

No game genre adds characters post-release like fighting games do, you still have your opportunity

Yeah that's honestly the biggest issue with Yordles, they can't properly work in a fighting game since due to their inherent tinyness they're not going to be the healthiest for a fighting game. One idea I did hear was to have Lulu and Tristana together as one fighter with Tristana sitting on Lulu's shoulders so they fit in the hitbox properly, which is pretty funny and fitting for Yordles

i bet that he'd work like a Goldlewis type fighter, maybe having the ability to freely swing his mace around. Like, he's stuck in the corner, when he lands a Q esque attack, knocking them up before catching them on the back with a massive overhead swing that slams them over Mord into the corner.

Camille should be here as well.

I'm maining yasuo right at the games launch. Bro I love katanas so much, and for a fighting game omg this is gonna be so good

I really want to see Poppy, swinging that huge hammer to bonk on enemies seems really fun
