A trombonist knows how great this performance was! Great Job!

Coy Allen non-trombonist too
The 12 thumbs down must have been trumpet players. They were always jealous of the trombone players. Theirs is outstanding! What talent!!
My favorite part is when Jiggs is done with his solo and listens to the band play and stops and smiles admiring whats happening around him. Urbie did it and it'll keep being done.
This is gorgeous playing.
Wow that contrabass (I believe that was Brandt Attema) sounded just like a tuba. Amazing. All of this is amazing.

СпасиБог.!.
Is that a contrabass trombone? Damn, I forgot how big they are
Wagner would have LOVED this!! Wonderful playing from all-no passengers in this collective of trombone artists.

The dogfight in the middle was - interesting?
Look up 'Bones from Brazil' for I think the same performance, or at least some of the same people.
A hundred years ago, I don't think anyone could play the trombone like that. I would love to have an explanation of how this change came about. ???????

Bigbands in the thirties, and jazz in general had an emancipating effect probably
Being a trombonist and having followed Urbie Green since high school (70-74), it wasn't until this group started playing Perdido that it brought back memories of the original 21 trombones. The medley of other compositions didn't highlight this group at their best. Don't confuse loud overblowing with stylistic technique. Also the walking around was a distraction, not a feature.
our teacher put this on google class room Hopefully he does not see this comment
