Project 2025 Explained: US will turn into a dictatorship?
US President Joe Biden gaffe again. At the NATO summit, he mistakenly named Putin instead of Ukraine’s President Zelensky. This new blunder has been seen as the final nail in the coffin of Biden’s candidacy. If he still stays in the race, the chance of Trump’s return increases by manifold.
As Trump’s return is being debated, A policy document has come into the limelight. A proposed Republican Party platform is expected to be approved at the party’s national convention next week, but a much more detailed think-tank proposal has drawn attention for some of its suggestions.
Project 2025 is created by the Heritage Foundation think tank and runs for nearly 900 pages. Spearheaded by former Trump administration officials, it calls for the sacking of thousands of civil servants, expanding the power of the president, dismantling the Department of Education, sweeping tax cuts, a ban on pornography, halting sales of the abortion pill, and a whole lot more.
Trump has attempted to distance himself from the document, while Democrats have sought to highlight the proposals, which they say are hints at what might happen during a second Trump term.
