Of all these bands, I only knew Circus Maximus and Symphony X. Now I broadened my prog horizons. Also, you started this very well with Solid Vision. Great list man!

This is a fantastic playlist with some really talented bands, some of whom I already listen to. Thanks for sharing! Will definitely check out the other bands here that I’m not familiar with.

@@brayanrius2005 há uma diferença clara entre Rock progressivo (claramente os Rush foram os pais do estilo). Quanto ao progressive metal, os pais são o DT. Existem vários artigos e documentários sobre o assunto. 😉

@@luisantoniofernandespalmei6543 Sim, são épocas diferentes na história das bandas. Mas o Rush iniciou esse gênero do rock complexo. Com certeza os integrantes do Dream Theater ouviam e se inspiraram no Rush.

Não estou discutindo nem discordando de você, até porque acredito que temos o mesmo gosto musical. Só acho que o Rush tem mais mérito que o Dream Theater, por vir com a idéia do gênero antes do Dream Theater, mas reconheço que o Dream Theater é mais técnico que qualquer outra banda de rock. Também gosto de várias músicas deles.

They are good, but very specific sound. I like more the vibrant ones like Symphony X, Ayreon, Threshold, Seventh Wonder, Shadow Gallery.

@@goranmetalman thx, tool sucks anyway. I never got the appeal of listening to a song that should have been 40 seconds stretched out to over 10 minutes. Unfortunately, they became like 50% of the gold standard for prog metal (dream theatre being the other, more melodic half) so every playlist other than yours is filled with tool wannabes

Symphony X is definitely one of the best metal bands of all time. I personally don't really like this song, but the quality of the song in this video really doesn't do it justice. Awesome band tho, Russell Allen is my favorite vocalist

Hate lead synth in metal. Only atmospheric synth can be used.

What is this? Some metal for children?! Go and listen to some real, manly metal like Metallica or Dethklok kid.
