Emily, As the father of 2 young daughters, I literally get emotional watching you in these videos, creating your own place. You seem so young to me, and yet so wonderfully skilled and independent. Great to see you camping with you cousin, strong family bonds are very important. Your dad is an amazing role model for you and for all the rest of us as well and "knowing him" even the tiny bit that I do from watching him religiously since he started building his old cabin, I just know he is incredibly proud to see the wonderful person you are becoming. Absolutely love your videos, similar to your dad's yet unique to you and wonderfully peaceful to watch!

Random question because seeing the part where you mentioned her dad and his cabin, is that Myself Reliance her on YT? It's the first time I'm seeing her channel but noticed she has based in Ontario on her channel, and I know he's from there. I watch him once in a while, and she does look vaguely familiar

That area you camped was very nice!! I took my wife and kids to Rice Lake every year for 15 yrs. till my daughter graduated, then it wasnt cool anymore for her!! I always called that my little slice of Heaven!! Ontario is very beautiful, I miss it, AND, the people of Canada!!! Lots of fond memories and pictures!!! I enjoy watching your progress at your cabin and helping your family. Seems like you are from good stock!! Your father is a good man and he speaks highly of your mom,(who is camera shy!!), as well as both his girls!!!! God bless!!

That root cellar is coming on great. As it happens one of my favourite dinners is pork sausages, mashed potatoes and British Heinz Baked Beans. Have that at least every other week. Full Scottish Breakfast is also great which includes a slice of haggis and black pudding. When camping when I was younger I used a Blacks of Greenock tent with sewn in ground sheet and external support poles which was quick and easy to put up and take down. Did the Duke of Edinburgh''s award program and on the gold program it included 2 nights out in the Scottish hills around Perth. Look forward to your videos so please keep them going. Of course I am also a big fan of your fathers channel as well.

Family time and bonding together with projects is always a good thing and sets forth lasting memories as you get older. With such beautiful countryside how can anything be bad at doing the things you truly love. And you can’t beat good eats and relaxation.

@@TheresaPowers I don't think this is the case. I think Dan was referring to another video where she puts honey into the pepper brine when she was pickling the peppers. She put in honey to, I am assuming, make the peppers less hot. I could be wrong about that but it makes sense to add some honey.

Nice video Emily. My dad always told me when it came to projects, time, money and patience. I have always found the patience part the most important. The root cellar is looking great. Swimming in a river at sunset is always a treat. Beautiful nature.

It's so rear to see such a united family with friends to match. It is so refreshing and that is one of the reasons I no longer watch TV and all the shacking up and having fatherless kids is so heartbreaking and then we have Emily and dad and now even her friends and other family members come together. I was born and raised in Minnesota, so all the scenery brings back feels. Can't handle the cold in my old age, but I can live vicariously through your clips and your Dad's. I can see such maturity blossoming; you are the embodiment of the best from up north! As an old woman I have one piece of advice; don't settle for a weak man; you are extraordinary, he should be to. It may take a while to find him, but be patient.
