Programming the Eliminator III Riflescope
Ойын-сауық
Steve West from Steve's Outdoor Adventures walks you through how to program the Burris Eliminator III Rangefinding Riflescope in less than 6 minutes. The Eliminator is easy to use and really easy to set up.
Simply:
1. Mount the scope
2.Zero the scope at 50, 100 or 200 yards (that's up to you)
3. Enter your ballistic code which you can find here: ballistics.burrisoptics.com/e...
It's that simple. Now you're ready to push a button and extend your effective range!

So, what model scopes will have 6.5 creedmoor reticle?
Hello, the website you posted on the video and in the comments above #3, do not work. I haven't been able to find the right ballistic code so I can zero in my rifle. Could you please direct me to the right website or wherever I need to go so I can find the caliber I'm using to zero in. thank you
What adjustments would you need to do if you are hunting at different altitudes. I hunt anywhere from 6,000 to 11,000 feet in the same day.

Model 200133 / Manufacture Date 2020 vs. Model 20-0155 / Manufacture Date March 29, 2022. Amazon has them listed as different scopes. The 200133 is the Eliminator IV, and the 200155 is the Eliminator V. The V has newer features and improvements, which is why it is more expensive.
what rifle stand are you using?
you have to put some shim between the visor and the pincantini rail to compensate the space between them, in the video it is not explained.

You need the BC (Ballistic Coefficient) of the bullet and your muzzle velocity. Many ammo manufacturers list the muzzle velocity on the box, however it is more accurate to measure the actual velocity from your gun, as it often varies slightly.
@Hill_Billy_Without_A_Hill
4 жыл бұрын
Best thing to do is get a chronograph, and check your velocity. What manufacturers state on their ammo box is rarely correct in the reality. Plus depends on conditions of their test, like temperature, altitude, humidity, barrel length, and powder consistency. Many times its about 100 FPS less than the box states.

You talk about needing the muzzle velocity twice in your video. But the scope program doesn't need muzzle velocity entered in the program mode. When and why do we need muzzle velocity to program the scope, especially when the ballistics chart is available. Im asking because i am shooting hand loads that obviously are not on the chart. How am I supposed to get the info if i don't have a 750 yrd place to shoot

By chronographing or knowing your true velocity, you get even closer to being on at 750. We recommend entering all this information on our ballistic calculator to get your best starting point. Different barrel lengths produce different bullet drops using the same cartridge...ie different muzzle velocity.
Did I miss it? What caliber are you shooting? What make of ammunition in what grain bullet?
@BurrisOpticsCompany
7 ай бұрын
Steve touched on the key components of ballistics that are not related to caliber or make of ammunition's. The numbers that matter when running ballistic data are muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficient, sight height above bore, temperature, and you density altitude. Knowing all this information about any ammunition will provide you with the dope information needed to dial for distance, or in this specific instance to get the drop number for an Eliminator. The information that you program into the Eliminator are your zero range, your drop in inches at 750 yards with a 100 yard zero, and the ballistic coefficient of the bullet. Using our online ballistic tools app (Eliminator) makes this process rather easy. You can either use the recommended information above in manual input, or select your ammunition for our vast library of cartridges. The end out put of our program shows you the exact numbers that you will program into the Eliminator scope. www.burrisoptics.com/ballistic-tools Let us know if you have any further questions.
what is the closest it can be zeroed in?
@BurrisOpticsCompany
2 жыл бұрын
50 yards for slow velocity ammunition (muzzle loaders, slugs, etc). 100 yards for standard ammunition (supersonic)
Where did you come up with the bullet drop for a hand load ?
@BurrisOpticsCompany
4 ай бұрын
You can run your load data in any ballistic app to get your drop correction in inches at 750 yards with a 100 yard zero. You would simply need to chronograph your load, know the BC and your environmental conditions to get your drop number.

zero at 100 yards would be zero at center or above 1.5 inches ?
@BurrisOpticsCompany
6 ай бұрын
Zero is dead on not above or below. 1.5 inches is not zero at 100, that could be any distance beyond 100 yards dependent on the caliber. Not being dead on will affect the programmed ballistic curve beyond 100 yards, at all distances.
I programmed mine at 1535feet using federal 150 grain 2820fps, gave me 198 for drop and 31 for bc … book says 207 for drop and 31 for bc …. 207 is 0 ft altitude so I rounded off between 1000 and 2000 ft where I will be shooting and got 198 for drop and 31 bc as my number after a 100m dead zero half inch group … can anyone advise me if I have done something wrong ? Doesn't the suppressor change the muzzle velocity?
@BurrisOpticsCompany
Жыл бұрын
It does, typically adding a small amount of velocity. Not usually noticeable, as it falls within the parameters of the rounds "standard deviation" in the overwhelming majority of cases. You can have POI shift by adding a suppressor but it isn't necessarily related to the increase in muzzle velocity.

Incorrect, the scope will give you a wind hold based on the ballistics you enter. Like all scopes, it is up to the shooter to call the wind and use the hold accordingly. It most definitely does help with wind.
