The lyrics to Eleventh Earl of Mar are pretty rediculous but I love One For The Vine. I find the story really powerful and the way the music illustrates the different episodes makes the ending very uplifting and moving.
When I first got into Genesis and watched thus video years ago I agreed with Darren about All In A Mouse's Night. But I've since come to really love it. Phil has expressed feeling uncomfortable when singing some of Tony's lyrics but I think he did a really good job on that one and brings out the playfulness.
Wot Gorilla?, refers to the personnel listing on the Brand X album Unorthodox Behaviour where it says 'Phil Collins - Drums, Percussion, and Gorilla.

Didn´t know this. Thanks for the information. I always thought it had to do with Fank Zappa and Chester Thompson. In Zappa´s 1974 "A Token Of His Extreme" video he introduced Chester as: "On drums and gorilla" and a guy in a gorilla suit stood behind Chester. Would be an extreme (pun not intended) coincidence if there wasn´t any kind of connection.
The only thing missing from this album is the glass and and a half of milk when Wot Gorilla comes on….
I must disagree on All in a Mouse's Night. I love it and think the music and words go great to give you the feeling of a mouse on it's nightly jaunt. And the end is fitting with how the cat comes across a giant mouse.
This and Trick were the first Genesis albums I had. Friend in high school in the 80s put it on a Maxell 90min chrome tape. It was heaven in my Walkman. Love them both.
Blood on the rooftops; sublime...
My opinion, but I count Wind and Trick as the two best albums for Genesis.

I prefer tull's mouse jeje
sorry i cannot accept negative mood hehe mouse's night music is fusion prog, straight after gorilla, remembering the epping forest, in the path of the volcano, in a great progression we can hear how banks and collins were in according their sense of orchestration. you didn't said nothing about that you have a weirdo sensibility than mine

Did you ever review Spot the Pigeon on a separate review? Even though you kinda did a review within a review and gave it 5/5 lol
