The first thing that really grabbed my attention about this relatively inexpensive Peloton bike competitor named the ProForm bike was the box says this bike has a feature called “Auto Adjusting Personalized Resistance” which to me sounds like a feature that may be VERY similar to the Peloton Bike Plus digital auto follow resistance. This is not a full proform bike review bout we do look into this costco bike quite a bike and i do give some comparisons and opinions on how it stacks up.
In recent weeks I've seen some chatter online about Costco having an indoor cycling bike that is a cheaper alternative to the Peloton bike that costs an arm and a leg. Today started out an ordinary trip to costco, but on the drive there told Sabrina if they had a Peloton bike copycat I was going to buy it.
So without knowing anything about this Pro-Form Tour de France CBC indoor cycling bike I bought it and brought it home to see how it compares against the Peloton bike and the other indoor cycling bikes I have.
Well, make that 6 indoor cycling bikes now, apparently while we were out shopping at Costco, the Sunny bike SB02 and the Joroto X2 got delivered to our front door, which I ordered on Amazon earlier this week so I can review them and compare them the Peloton bike and other popular indoor cycling bikes, more videos on these cheaper peloton bikes coming soon.
Initially I was pretty pumped about the Sunny bike and Joroto bike from amazon being delivered, but ultimately the wording “auto adjusting personalized resistance” on the ProForm Tour de France from costco that this indoor cycling bike got me really excited to see what this was all about so I decided to unbox and build the ProForm CBC tour de france bike first.
This video is an unboxing, building, and first impressions of the ProForm Tour De France CBC from Costco, check the time stamps to skim this video and learn all about how it compares to the Peloton bike plus and my other indoor cycling bikes.

Thanks for the info. I've decided to spin the dice. Just got home with it from Costco. Hoping no defects, and hoping the app is useful enough (basic bike operation and stats) without the subscription, as I've been told. I'll adjust the max resistance per your video if necessary. Mostly, I want to use it for HIIT, and there don't appear to be better options unless the Schwinn A10, 130, or 170 is, but they don't appear to be. I also already know I don't like the other types of spin bike resistance mechanisms. I'm expecting to take my pedals off my road bike for now and I'll probably get another pair. I haven't ridden seriously for close to 10 years, and where I live, it's not practical to ride outside until April, IMO, so this seems to be what I need to do.

Very interesting! I like the aggressive set up for nice value $385. After my 1st of 5 years of competitive MTB racing in '93 I bought a Schwinn Johnny G Spinner for $700 the next fall at Scheels Outdoor Sports in Rapid City, SD. I remember removing the bars, seat tube and lifting the remaining heavy flywheel, awkward 120 lbs into my '86 Honda Accord hatchback. To this day the overbuilt Johnny G has been one of the best buys i've made. Put a racing saddle on it the only thing changed. I would go crazy without it. I do 2 spin reps, 20 lb free weights and do dead weight lifts off the bars then burpees. I golf almost 100 rounds a year and use it before every round.

@TailHappyTV To anyone who has a tablet and cannot see the little screen behind it ,here is a solution .You can use your tablet cover open it and place the backcover over the top of the bike screen,at this point your tablet should hang from the top of the screen and you should be able to see your buttons not fully but at least half of your screen not fully but a little less than half is better than nothing I feel . You can at least NOW touch your - & + and Fit button! . Hope this helps! Btw My tablet cover is a regular magnetic tablet cover closure ,the back of my iPad is connected still to the tablet .If you say you where to take the cover and use the lip in the back of the tablet, that would be what hangs over the bike and holds the tablet .Wish I could l show you the pic so it could be understood better.

Does anyone have an issue with the seat post making an irritating creaking noise? It started on the very first ride. It does it whether the saddle is set for my height or my girlfriend's height. The noise is definitely coming from where the seat post slides into the frame. Loosening the height adjustment knob and sliding the seat up or down and putting it back will stop the creaking temporarily, but it comes back after 10-15 minutes.

Just got this bike. So far it's ok for what it is. A cheap way to get into this with Costco's return policy giving you peace of mind. My only complaint is that the resistance levels that are automatically set by iFit have no correlation to anything. The resistance levels are way too easy. I have to override the automatic iFit resistance which defeats the purpose. I wish there was a way set a resistance range to use because levels 1-4 are completely useless.

Bought this bike a few weeks ago. Overall a great deal when considering price. My biggest question relates to the iFit programming. The hardest rides only push auto resistance to 6 out of 16 and clearly isn’t consistent with the intensity of the workouts. I’m wondering if the program/software isn’t calibrated to this bike as of yet. Hopefully that gets addressed. It would really exceed expectations at that point, until then auto resistance really does serve a helpful purpose. Anyone found a workaround for this problem?

I bought this bike after viewing this reviews along with some other clips. I instantly realised this iFit low resistance bug. I am fairly confident this was a iFit program issue where the resistance has not be calibrated/adjusted properly for this bike, therefore a lot of the workout has a resistance of 1-3, or max 7 for the most intensive workout. I am gutted that I did not see those discussions before my purchase and have not seen any KZread video highlighting such a annoying bug. Although in theory this can be addressed by software update fairly easily, there have been several months since people reported this issue to iFit and proform. So my hope for a quick fix is not high. This is really annoying and disappointing.

I did assemble it and the resistance is making me question it. I follow dvds and KZread spinning classes and there's Hill climbs, jumps, and stuff with a heavy resistance. I tried it out today and was on level 7 for tabatas and endurance rides and was on 13 for jumps. I'm only 5'1 so not all bikes work for me and my inseam. This one does....it's just the resistance that makes me question if I should return it. My spin classes always said a flywheel of at least 40pds was a quality bike.....

After spending hours of searching the web as well as calling Pro-Form's Customer Care line and was still facing a 'brick wall', I decided to go through my connections I had to make while setting up the bike. I discovered that under the Bike's frame in the area where assembly instruction number 7 indicates to connect to connector, there are two additional wire connectors tucked up inside the cavity of the frame which isn't mentioned in the instructions because they are supposed to be pre-connected from the factory/assembly line. Well 'lo & behold' one of these connectors were NOT connected from the factory/assembly line and when I connected the one which was un-connected.....BooM!!! Not only did the resistance feature started working but all the other display features that are mentioned on page 18 of the instruction manual for this Bike.
