I wish there was a business comparable to you guys in the UK. You guys are a cut above the rest for sure. Im currently making custom wood accents for my Bellezza chiaria pid. Im sure its pretty generic but im not paying the money!

Just a comment on removing and replacing the water reservoir. It should be done gently. The possibility of the tank splitting around the metal connection is very high. Especially if the rubber ring on the bottom of the tank is not lubricated. I would want people to know that when you remove the tank you should always inspect the rubber gasket and look for cracks around the metal valve on the tank. Then lubricate. At the very least make the rubber ring slightly damp before pushing the tank back in place. This can happen to a new tank or an older more rigid tank. And water damage is a real bummer for counters and cupboards depending on your setup

Hi ar, Thanks for the tips. Lubricating seal is always a good idea. I'll mention I've used hundreds of machines over the last decade with this type of reservoir and have yet to have one crack.

I just got one and am having fun experimenting with it, but had a couple questions! Mine came with the double spout and bottomless portafilters, the basket inside the bottomless seems much bigger than the double spout, is one basket a triple shot and one a double(or a double and a single), and are the baskets interchangeable between the portafilters? With flow control, is the default setting where the knob is pointing straight at me?

Hi g, congrats on you new Pro 500! For flow control you'd open 1.25 turns from the closed no flow position to get the stock flow rate of 7-8g/s second. For more videos/info on your machine, including using and calibrating the flow control see our support site for the Pro 500 here: support.wholelattelove.com/hc/en-us/sections/1500000401142-Profitec-Pro-500-PID Baskets should be interchangeable. Manufacturers sometimes change included baskets. If both filter baskets have holes across nearly the entire bottom then they are double and triple baskets. If the smaller of the 2 has far fewer holes and a taper to the bottom then that's a single. Hope that helps! Marc

Re filtration. Many people have fridges with a built in filter system for the water dispenser and the ice maker. This is the easiest way to have filtered water as it is multi use.

Hi ar, Thanks for the comment. Going to be kind of hit and miss on what the fridge filters do. If they have softening capabilities for calcium reduction it likely uses sodium which is not ideal for flavor extraction. I advise testing water for total hardness and carbonate hardness (alkalinity) to appraise scaling potential of fridge filtered water as seen in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aYh5pdSPaZbPd7Q.html

For the sake of your investment I highly recommend using a bwt magnesium filter. For 25 a year it's a damn site cheaper than a repair.
