Professor Joshua Maponga: "Christianity and Islam are BULLIES OF AFRICAN CULTURE " | Wake-Up Blaq

In this explosive video, Joshua Maponga presents a thought-provoking perspective on the influence of Christianity and Islam on African culture. He raises the argument that these religions can be seen as "bullies" due to their inherent tendency to modify traditional practices, alter ways of worship, and exhibit limited acceptance towards individuals with differing beliefs.
Maponga delves into explaining how the introduction of Christianity and Islam in Africa has often led to cultural transformation. He highlights various instances where indigenous customs, rituals, and traditions have been challenged or replaced by the teachings and practices of these foreign religions. By advocating a shift in perspective, he encourages the viewers to critically analyze the potential consequences of these changes and assess the impact on African cultural heritage.
Furthermore, Maponga critically examines the theme of religious intolerance within Christianity and Islam. He exposes instances where individuals who hold different beliefs are met with judgment, exclusion, or even violence. By shedding light on the limitations of religious tolerance, he aims to provoke a deeper understanding and promote open dialogue surrounding faith and spirituality.

Idk if you guys ever noticed you are accepted EU, & European stole your tribal science, technology especially Medecinal They also tried this Hindu created Ayurveda, yoga, meditation . it was all religious practices of Hindus, when they tried to take away & patient them as Theirs. Indians should make it a point to try to study about other cultures and religions before trying to act smart, you only end up looking foolish. @@NativeBharatiye Christians did not think the earth was flat, berber theologians like Augustine themselves knew that Bible had to be interpreted figuratively as far as genesis is concerned, moreover than that the first people to circumnavigate the world were portugues christians, not greeeks, not Indians, but Portuguese christians. You cant accomplish this feat without having advanced naval technology, mapping technology and understanding currents. Addtionally many Hindus today are reinterpreting their own holy texts to insert scientific principles that European christians developed independently on their own without having to refer to these texts at all. It is very clear to me that it is not the christians who are backward at least.

Due to colonialism , Africans developed a mentality of lower class citizens. They feel shy and insecure saying their African names because they sound long and improper according to western standards. They should empower themselves and preserve their heritage. Those who forgot their history cannot create a future. Development will eventually happen, but A cultural future won't be there for the upcoming generation. I read somewhere in Amazon Jungle a very old statues and monuments were discovered. I agree with Josuoha comments. Can we just think with the present historical evidence (not these 200 years just go back to 2000-3000 years), Is there any Religion name exists in this world. Entire world had different Tribes with different life style based on their natural resources for their livelihood. There may be some well evolved tribes leadership was based on good strength, knowledge and with some good skills for their tribe group livelihood. Their core livelihood natural unity of law which is seeking knowledge from nature. In-efficient and in-competitive people are started to think how to grab the power indirect shortcut. The only way for them to grab the power is Start applying rules and regulations for groups to avoid thinking beyond their rules and laws with the name of God. Instead respecting others culture, Started Bulling other tribes and destroying their core livelihood natural unity of law which is seeking knowledge from nature. Old African tribes were good tribal pharmacist, bone setters, doctors, farmers, fishermen, good tribe leaders with mutual cultural values and had lot off respectful nature on his natural surrounding which was feeding them. Now most off the Africans are just africans by colour and body but list their soul(their tribal culture and tradition) was either western or arabs. It's true in so many countries.

I had the same question about Jesus prayer in Gethsemane. But I guess there is a simple explanation to it. Jesus was praying alone on the mount of Gethsemane. While praying, his heart was heavy and he cried which is mentioned in the Bible. It's very possible that when he came down he still had tears and his disciples asked him why he was crying. To which he must have responded that he prayed to God that if possible let the cup of suffering move away but not his will but the will of his father prevail. After all by all accounts Jesus spent much more time praying at Gethsemane than just the one line which is mentioned in the Gospel. If all that would have been put in the Bible don't you think there would have been enough material for an entire chapter atleast if not an entire book.

Many cultures and historic religions and their gods destroyed by Christians and Islam. Religions with many gods and goddesses, religions who prayed nature (sun, storm, etc) were considered backward and people following them were converted into a religion with one man God. We see those historic cultures (Vikings, Romans, Egyptians, Greeks, etc) now only in movies. Only few including Hinduism (or call Sanatan) survived.

The conversation about culture has been going on for many years. In fact, Paul said, "to those outside the law I became as one outside the law." But more recently, Hudson Taylor, in taking the Gospel to China, made the decision to take on local customs and attire. He grew his hair out and tied it back like the Chinese. He got a lot of flack for it from other Christians, but he is the one remembered now. So if we are saying "Christianity" as a culture, then yes, there have been many such infringements on culture. But not from Jesus. Jesus redeems culture, he doesn't do away with it.

I love Africa and African culture, an unyielding Pan Africanist, but Yeshua the Messiah is greater than any culture, including any form and type of African culture, and I Love Him more than African culture. As Christ followers, we need to first and foremost follow the Yeshua Culture, found via the Word of God and the direction of the Holy Spirit. Any facet of African culture that is contrary to the Yeshua Culture (eg killing of twins as a harbinger of calamity for example) needs to be discarded. Today I watched a group using the traditional music instruments particular to my Igbo tribe to praise the only Living God via singing and dancing. Such is to be encouraged and emulated. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all Truth found in and through Yeshua the Messiah (Chineke in my language) - Amen 🙏!
