Adrien your almost there!...honestly you need more SPEED! Notice how Blair has the most speed? He doesn't have to pump nearly as hard rebounding off the sider'...

Can’t wait to see him get barreled. He’s got it. Crazy I grew up watching him skim and used to comment on his videos calling gm out on tricks 😂 gotta love the KZread skim community

Fun fact: my dad almost died when he was 5 years old at The Wedge. Then over 50 years later I almost died at the age of 24 at The Wedge. Then my dad actually died eating a wedge of cheese at the age of 68. Life's weird

Adrien did incredibly for his first introduction to wedge waves

I built my first skimboard out of my Dad's plywood scrap. It was a bit concave and warped. Cut it with a jigsaw and shaped the edges with a rasp....painted with an 80s black and white checkerboard. It skimmed in Kauai and freezing NorCal beaches. Most radical moves: actually getting a carve on a wave, and launching a body flip into too shallow water.

Blair's so wholesome, cool to see him coaching someone

I like the way Blair put this one together, the stylish music grooves only while Blair is shredding the Wedge into submission!

Blair always seems easy to ride the waves here. But I found it very difficult. Skimming here is the dream of an old Japanese skimmer.

I had the exact same feeling when I first went to Wedge, I did not expect this wave to be where it is at!

I love renting bikes and going to the wedge with my family! I wish I could get one of my wood boards out that far to catch a wave, but I’ll save up for a fiberglass board. The other thing is that I live in Utah so I could only use it every so often. Blair is probably one of the most chill, nice KZreadrs I am subscribed to. Thanks for the content!

Great to see a flatlander to try waves, excellent video. Blair flying as always. It's hard yeah but Adrien was impressive, in not long he will fly too. I skimboard in Argentina, not many people know it here. Wooden skimboard flatland always, but recently I started to try waves too, but it's difficult to find a beach with nice shore waves.

I had to look up European Flatland Skimboarding because I never heard of it. It looks pretty cool. It would be a tough sport to start in the US, because we don't have many of those huge flat beaches like in Europe.

Yo Blair can you give the specs on what board you ride? Saving up for a top of the line skimboard and your board looks like the perfect setup

Back in the day professional skimboards came from one place - Laguna canyon on the 133..... everybody rode wooden skimboards that was your only choice. That and the only real fins to have at The Wedge were not Churchills but a pair of black Viper fins with the yellow dot meant you knew what was good gear. That was way back when Danny Kwock was one of the first surfers I ever watched paddle out at The Wedge and the OG local still wore a pair of Speedos.

And world champ makes it look like butter

Its wild how established Blair is as the best in the business. He's like the tiger woods of the sport.

It is for maintaining a hydroplane and keep your speed so you can reach waves that are further out

@@SkidKids Trippy. I figured that the wider stance would make more drag, but I can see how not dropping the back foot could be faster and how more surface area makes more lift.

This kid is alright. So he hasn't really surfed before? This will be interesting to watch. I say start winching him tomorrow and see if he can catch something like that. Then, put him on a regular surfboard to help him understand the waves a little bit. Definitely wanna see his progression. I have never seen any of Adrien's clips, so gonna have to check them out. Excellent work coming out of Skid Kids Production studio, Laguna Beach, CA. Sounds official

I did for years on the Cape. I started with wood boards, might have been only thing available then. I did more CC Bay flats because I lived close to them, but you can get some decent waves on outer Cape.
