    I am reminded of the (very) old joke about the vicar who is eating an egg that is somewhat off. When asked if it was alright, his reply was the classic, "Parts of it are very good." In this case, it is the parts Phoebe Russell plays that are very good. Eddy needs to follow the advice on his t-shirt if he is going to continue to have a relationship with the double bass.

    @Bassalicious

    Blue moon pack You don't really get blisters when playing the bass unless you slide around in the top octave all day. The strings are thick enough to not cut into the fingertips, they feel pretty mellow. I've only ever had blisters on the right hand from playing pizzicato. BUT you need immense strength in the left hand fingers to actually get the strings down firmly onto the fingerboard to enable a nice sound, especially higher up the fingerboard. If you played a violin like a bass you would break it clean in two.

    The best part is watching the bassist's face when Eddy's playing, and seeing the hope when she nods followed by suppressed pain. Also, it's super cool that string skills seem to be vaguely transferrable between instruments? Like how does Eddy know where the notes are on the bass??
