marek TORRES. I like this couple too very much and I felt they could and should have placed higher. Too often I think judges are much too reluctant to upset the status quo and they judge based on ranking and not the performance on the day. That,s the safe way to judge, but not the right way.

@@joetesta8754 exactly, unfortunatelly it makes dancesport boring. I do not think that every comp should finished the same. Couples are so close to each other that every top 6 couples can every comp finishef different place acvording to their actual performence and condition.

​@@marektorres8169 It would be wonderful if that would be the case but here.s one of the problems. An adjudicator has at most one minute and 45 seconds to asses 6 often very different and very even couples. I don't believe that is enough time to make a thorough judgement and too much can be missed and invariably is. Judges are also only human and they do have their biases as we all do. Dancesport has been grappling with this issue for decades,they don't seem to have a satisfactory solution and sadly neither do I.

All the dancers were fabulous. I could never pick a winner. The dresses were too cute! I loved the 1st couple but that could be because I saw them 1st.

There is one thing about Kirill that makes him so special - his constant joy of dance and relishing his own movements and personality while dancing. Depending on the preferences this may seem as either a disadvantage, since he is not paying so much attention to his partner as to his own dancing and presentation, or an advantage because loving himself in the dance becomes a big part of his charisma and it's quite contagious, at least to half of the spectators. I guess it has something to do with our mirror neurons: watching someone taking so much pleasure of his own movements gives us the same feeling. And this may be quite irrational: we like him not because he is a perfect patner to someone as we know he shoud be in LA dancing, but because by taking his own pleasure he gives this pleasure to us, the more susceptible part of the audience who needs these emotions. I am not talking about the technique, because there is a lot of strong male dancers today and on this level we already pick our favourites by more subtle things.

Very interesting philosophy, and I quite agree with you on part of it. It is extremely enjoyable to watch those people who love doing what they do - the joy is so very contagious. But, I have to say, on the other hand, there is a part of that theory which then detracts, or almost steals, from their partner - especially a partner like Viktoria, whose real strength, in my opinion, is her smoldering partnership chemistry. I always liked him with Polina. To me, they had a special look which balanced that joy of relishing his own movements. But I’m also in the other camp that feels he needs to pay more attention to his partner, because her strength is something completely different from his. And if both of these guys could hit and compliment their individual strengths, they would definitely be an unstoppable force!!!

@@SavingHistory I agree that Polina balanced Kirill's dancing style perfectly, they looked like a couple, not like two individual dancers. And I've never had the impression that Kirill detracts something from Polina - on the contrary they gave much to each other in terms of artistic impression and the style of their dance. Vic has a different style: more sensual, her strength has always been her beautiful poses and very smooth feminine movements. On the other hand, Kirill's dance is much faster with sharper accents. And this is more typical in WDC prof final. Smoothness of movements and excellent technical skills are not enough - dancers have to be very fast nowadays, at least the partners need to match each other in this aspect. If Kirill and Victoria overcome this difference, then I'm sure they will be a perfect couple. So, I guess it's not just Kirill's attention to Vic that needs to be developed - for him becoming more sensual and attentive to his partner in this case would mean to become slower and less accentuated, which is not his typical style and may get in the way of reaching his full potential as a dancer unless Victoria also changes her style somehow, making it more suitable to his.

@@Maria_Fomina No doubt! She definitely has to sharpen and speed up. But even if/when she does, without that partnership sensuality which is her strength, she’s just going to be like every other sharp dancer on the floor, and they’ll still look like two individual dancers rather than one team. I have wondered in the back of my mind if this wasn’t too much of a jump for her, from where she was with Salvo, all the way up to the 4th top pro? Where she and Salvo were climbing together, all of a sudden she’s now in a caliber which demands of her everything all at once. But if they find that balance - she speeds up, and he slows down just enough to take the journey with her, I still think they could be really phenomenal.

H.C Here you are again showing your insurmountable bias and waving the huge flag in everyones face as you constantly do for your long time idol Kirill. Despite that there are 6 couples on that floor all showing some individually fine dance skills you can rarely if ever find a complement or rpossitive word about anyone other that this one fellow. You've been doing it for a very long time. We all have our favourites, but mostly we also are objective enough to see and value the talents of others as well and publicly praise them for it. The only time you might pay complement to someone is if Kirill isnt'in the video and even then you so often you are compelled to put in a plug for him anyway at every opportunity. You inflexible biases stand out like a beacon but many see you have an agenda and how you play the game.

Who knows what is a song that has danced by the 1st caple?

belorukov is in a brand new partnership with a lady with one of the most striking floor presence and personality in world dancesport not to mention dance talent and to me he took it away from her big time, because as i see it he is so driven by self promotion. All through this dance its all about himself and how fast and how slick he can move. Even at the end instead of engaging with and highlighting his new partner he completely ignores her and all he's interested in is big noting his own self importance. Showman ship is good to a point but he's ott and to me he just comes over as a selfish and narcissistic dance partner. Nobody puts Viktoria in a corner but he did a pretty good job here of doing just that.

@JoeT- I think you exaggerate a lot. And I think you are wrong. (Anyway, I also think I can't take your comments too seriously because it is obvious you hate the guy. You always criticize him a lot no matter what, for years. You are actually being mean when you do. It does not sound constructive.) In my view anyway, they had a good connection all through this presentation and they did well. I was not convinced about this new partnership but it seems to be getting better I find. Hard shoes to fill from Polina T. Yes, Polina and Kiril had some issues at times to work on, but they did dance together beautifully and their last year was great.

​@@lunamielleei3163 Fully respect your view. Time will tell if I'm right or wrong. He is not near attentive or caring enough imo. If you're taking physical connection then yes that's there. It's the non physical connection i feel is still the big issue with Kirll B. Too much of his energy and body language isn't projected to his partner enough, but rather too often at the audience. That destroys the harmonious look and feel of the partnership and whilst technically it can be brilliant it all looks somewhat detached, mechanical and physical. That kind of partner dancing just doesn't float my boat one bit and if he gets that aspect to a far better level I will become a fan in a heartbeat.

@@joetesta8754 i have to agree. I got the same feeling watching this but also watching him with Polina. For me it's also like he's trying to much to be a showman. Not to have anything against Victoria but what happened to Polina? Why did they split? And will she dance in WDC professionals? I miss Polina. To me she could be next Julia soon...

@@DonAndress I can't shed any light on your questions. I dont know about being the next Yulia, but I don't think we've seen the absolute best of Polina yet, but i suspect we will pretty soon. There s is a video on Follow Max Fomin channel of Polina dancing a rumba with Sergey. Check it out and take note of the interplay and the non physical connection going on . It's only one short practice dance and you cant make too many assessments from it ,but I've never seen those kinds of looks and body language from Polina dancing with Kirill. Cant wait to see these two couples go head to head over the 5 dances.
